Vlad’s first multi-HR game of the season. But hey, better late than never, and it came during an important game.

If he could go on a little hot streak here in the last week, he could push his OPS above .800, and reach 30 HR and 100 RBI.

No, no, and no. But he did grind back to a full 1.0 WAR on the season. The one bright spot is the lowest strikeout rate of his career. It's hard to believe he can get any worse than this. Too much talent not to have a better season next year

What exactly is his value? He plays the easiest position in baseball to replace. His bat is ok (not great). His defense sucks. So does his baserunning.

It's at the point where unless he has a much better 2024, there will be a serious discussion about non-tendering him in his final arbitration year where he'll be projected to make $25 mil+. It sad to see from a guy who so deserved his prospect accolades, but he's OPSed over .800 (barely) one time in the four years other than 2021. An .800 OPS first baseman that can't field and is terrible on the basepaths is a replacement level player.

There's always a chance he can turn it around but it looks grim. And it doesn't help that he cost his team the season by getting picked off in the 5th with 2 on in a horrendous spot to get lazy on the basepaths

I maintain that his weight and condition are the problems. And if he would actually dedicate himself to fixing those issues, he could be one of the best hitters in the game.

I’m a huge Jays fan. Vladdy needs to work hard this off-season and know that now that he is in the big leagues he needs to work hard. He has amazing god given talents, and that has got him this far. However, it’s time to put in the work if he wants to be a superstar. Getting picked off at second, with 2 outs, the bases loaded, and your best hitter at the plate is inexcusable. It is lazy baseball. From a hobby standpoint, his prices have plummeted and rightfully so as his numbers have done the same. He is still a great ball player, but he is no longer in the generational talent category, nor is he near the top of the list of current greats. He is not even the best player on his team. Many people have said that Bo will be a bigger star and have a better career. They just might be right. Bo seems to want it much more… although his play wasn’t exactly stellar either by blowing through a stop sign yesterday

How much are people going to lose on Vladdy if he has another horrible year next season?

His prices are already down, but shockingly still expensive for what he is.

Out of 4 seasons(not counting 2020), he has been average to below average in all but 1. I guess he ended up being alright in 2022, but nothing to write home about.

What looked insanely promising in Tatis, Franco, Vladdy Jr, etc not so much anymore
