The question is, how much of this will be left a year from now? If there is a ton left and readily available, but will have to start to drop it below retail price. However, these will not be in Targets, and a lot of people will have opened. In person at a show (or the National) these could be $35 a box. Not bad if bought for $16-$20 a piece.

I agree. I've been away from the hobby and decided to return to purchase/hold unopened only. About the 3rd day of holding, 1st box I opened has a Soto Xfractor. Fast forward to 20-25 more boxes and 29 hangers... I'm now back to pushing .90 inserts and $4 autos I don't want. Maybe the next 10 boxes I have incoming will stay as intended, unopened. Current odds are 80% they'll stay sealed. If I can find more hangers locally to bust. lol

Given these are Target exclusive where would unsold boxes be available from - once it’s pulled off the shelves?

Great question. I would love to know the answer to this myself, and not just for this product, but for any retail packages.

I think this release has been pretty popular. I know alot of folks in this thread are seeing shelves of it, and that could only mean that it's not being purchased, but you must take into account the time of year.
Its holiday season and more people than not dont have disposable income BEYOND xmas presents, and all the extra purchasing that comes along with the holiday season.
If it were mid july, I don't think we would see full shelves.

Plus the packaging and exclusive release must be taken into account. It's online (BO, the bay, Target) or a local Target. Not in your hobby shops for the random box purchase people. No distributors (aside from excel) or on Topps.com. No distributors is a big thing as how many of you get a case near cost and flip a few months later? This stuff cannot be bought wholesale. Only slightly discounted ( 5% off red card, 25% off 1, 10% off sale etc). Not enough room for flippers, so those guys are not sitting on 1-5 cases. It also takes about 4 of these to equal a hobby box. So about 48 boxes for a case. So that 50 boxes you see is only 1 case. It looks like a lot but with limited outlets it's just more compressed.

They did print a lot and the stuff flew off the shelves faster than they anticipated. So they just increased the amount to put on shelves. Maybe too much this week. But black Friday sales are coming so they need to have shelves full. Talking to an excel rep, she said Target is always on her. We need more of xx, we need less of xx. She had no clue what this stuff was about and she worked for Target for 25 years and then 5? plus w/excel. She asked my why I wanted the TCU that I was waiting for her to locate. Her wrinkly face cringed like I would look at a person eating food off the floor that passed the 5 second rule when she asked. Wanted to make up a funny story like "Baseball cards are like pictures of a Dad I never had." Instead I said something awkward like "It's the good stuff".

Once it dries up we could miss seeing these full shelves. Either that or our boxes of late 80's Topps commons will have some new company.

Target has them in stock online with free shipping. There are various small discounts also.

I am baffled as to why anyone is buying these third party unless someone is desperate to unload at like $15 shipped.

Question; when y’all that are seeing them in-store abundantly, when you go online, are they showing them (boxes or fat packs) actually in store? For me it says “not in stores” and I’ve been to a bunch of stores multiple times and still found none (I ordered 15 mega so far, but wouldn’t mind some pink, And I’m in an area; Chicago, where when I say a bunch, I mean there’s 10 local targets and usually I can find whatever)

They say "not in store" online since the ones sold in stores don't go into Target's inventory and therefore they never have record of any of them being in stores.

If you're looking for some, you may as well buy them online. Target is doing free shipping until Christmas so it's the same price as in-store. Plus you know someone didn't feel up the cards already.

So my Target recently restocked around 30 boxes. I purchased 4 or 5 and pulled a gold refractor auto and a base auto.
What are the odds of anything left in the remaining boxes?
Trying to decide if I want to buy more or just go buy jumbo of regular traded at my hobby shop.
