It's simply because Fanatics made it impossible for 99% of buyers to get this at the ask price. They are purposely funneling everyone to Fanatics Live where the bozos on there have literally unlimited cases to open.

I mean, that's not going to work on me. I have zero interest in Fanatics Live. I still have my 50 dollar credit though.......maybe if I get aced out of Cosmic Chrome again (MSRP) I'll use it there

Wait, so for base cards there are 22 parallels? Good lord.

Oh man. During the EQL, the other two were buying hobby at 400 and 425. Now those products have disappeared from their buy list. Feels like a crypto pump.

One still has a buy price for cases of 4800 (selling for 7K to the public). Hmmmm, I guess always buy cases when able?

At the 12:15 mark Thanos Claw die cut shows up. It looks pretty great honestly. I can't get my hands on this, but for those who do the cards look pretty cool.
Thats a nice design

Ah and moss pops up were there is possible money to be made. Check their site dbag. They may not be selling but that's what it says. Now back to playing in the road with your things.

and just like that I'm not interested. Someone listed one at $14,000. Not that it would go for that price but I've never seen so many $5,000+ asking prices in such a short span since release. I'd rather buy a few dozen Red PMG's from Upper Deck releases. I recall Green PMG's running $1000 for your standard character the first week of release and dropping slowly as the market flowed.

Not to defend moss, but his comment was in regards to the buy price they have, not the sale prices they are listing it at. That is the context of those comments.

You may have jumped the gun to get the chance to toss an insult out there.

Fanatics really needs an ePack site.

Why hire people to do that when you can just funnel them to Fanatics Live?

The buy prices didn’t “disappear”, the number they wanted slowly got lower throughout the day because people were taking them up on their offer after they won the EQL or received their Topps orders. Boxes are flying off eBay this evening, the buy offers will probably be back at some point.

Yeah the bum still has it out for me 5 years later because I wouldn't pay him some ridiculous amount to be a middle man on a TMall purchase that would have taken minutes of his time. He wanted me to pay around double what the boxes/cases cost on a product that had been in stock for over a week and was still in stock at that time. On top of that he expected me to pay thousands of dollars Paypal gift to someone I'd never bought from. I politely declined. I didn't just stop messaging or back out of a deal and stop responding or give some bs reason why I couldn't pay like almost everyone does now. Ever since then it's every single time he has to say something derogatory to me for no reason. He's a piece of garbage.

Based on the style of the serial numbers I think you're correct on them being printed in Italy. Nice catch.

I have been collecting for 20+ years but with these prices I am pretty much priced out, that's if you can even get a box. What happened that skyrocketed the prices like this and who is buying? You need to remortgage your house to get a set together...

OK, rant over!

Are you telling moss to kill himself?! Much akin to saying take a short walk off a long pier!? KYS?! TDS?!

Rant on I say. This is ridiculous. I'm pricing myself out. I know what things cost prior to COVID and Fanatics taking over. This product should be $200 a box, max, but I get how supply and demand works.

Anyone buying this, hope you have fun opening and collecting.

I looked at a couple of box openings. It was just a big meh for me. Nowhere near the price and hype. Cards looked ok. Little bit of a throwback to the Impel sets. For this style of cards, I am just keeping the 90/91 Impel sets on my want list it pick up cards of superheroes. I have seen some upper deck sets with nicer art as well.

These releases are really bringing out the best in people.

When Fanatics and Uncle Rubes make it impossible for people to buy at retail, this is what happens.

Yeah if I'm at Target and I happen to see a blaster for $30 or less, I'll buy one or two. Can't really justify anything else here.

I don't play but I found myself preordering Magic The Gathering Marvel's Spider-Man Bundle instead of paying through the nose on this release ... maybe I'll get in to X-Men Finest '97 since that is getting lower and lower?

OK, so this is how it generally cycles? Big 3 fill their perceived need, eBay offloads a ton for even less, then maybe prices creep back up? Seems logical for a product that appeared to be high demand (and maybe still is). Interesting.

I'm still sitting on a bunch of 23/24 Baskeltball sapphire that I thought was gold when I won it from EQL.............probably just take teh L and let the kiddos bust it

The good news is that in today’s hobby you can still find great deals on secondary. As much as I love to break wax, at some point it makes sense to just sit it out and buy secondary PC cards for cheap. You definitely stretch your dollar farther, you just no longer have chance to pull that big lottery hit that drives a lot of the thrill in the hobby.
