Hope you're right, as it would help drive S1, but not sure how they'd pull that off with the first game of the season so close to release. I can't imagine Upper Deck would risk including him in production without him having officially made his debut. I'd think the only possibility would be a redemption, which would still be better than nothing....

Looks like 10/18 it is, as everyone except BO has that updated now

Could they still do this? Doesn't the licensing requirements still mandate that they play an NHL regular season game before being included in an NHL licensed product? Feel like if they were allowed to do POE/non-NHL jersey we'd see top guys a lot earlier than we do. I honestly don't know the answer, but I don't think we've seen POE cards of guys we haven't debuted. Usually they are in S2 and have a regular YG in S1 or S2 as well

Nothing on the checklist indicated as a redemption, so if there is something Bedard-related, I guess we'll have to wait until release to see if there's an "easter egg"

Checklist is pretty brutal. I think Devon Levi is the biggest YG/RC in S1 and they managed to leave him out of the Canvas set, as well as most of the other inserts that include other rookies. No Hughes Canvas either

Here's the Canvas Young Guns list. With as strong a rookie class as we're expecting this year, I just can't understand why Upper Deck wouldn't include Devon Levi and Luke Hughes in this. It just seems like they never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity to help create some value.....

Kraken group breaks will be dirt cheap again.

Excited about another Tanev Canvas and a McCann Population count.

Only gripe would be the Eberle and Burakovsky Dazzlers. Burakovsky literally had a Dazzlers in the very last extended release and Eberle already had a Dazzler. More players/Variety would be nice.

so the only rookies (or pre-rookie) he has are the CHL stuff with zero Bedards in series 1...ultimate is the first major rookie i assume now, with Artifacts in a couple weeks...CHL should be the main attraction now up until ultimate release

He has cards in 2021, 2022 Upper Deck Team Canada Juniors as well, and presumably 2023 which is scheduled for November release

I think the upcoming Ultimate release you are referring to is still 2022-23, so he wouldn't be in there.

Artifacts and Black Diamond are on the CC release calendar as TBA. I think (but don't know for sure) that Artifacts top rookies are usually redemptions, but I believe Black Diamond are usually live....just not sure when that is scheduled for. Trilogy is also usually one of the earlier releases that historically includes the full rookie crop

MVP is a redemption, and I suspect those won't be returned until well after other products release with him in them

If last year is an indication, Artifacts redemptions are sent out very slowly. The product came out early February 2023 and I still haven't received a single one - they've been "waiting for stock to be confirmed". So if the plan is to sell the redemption or PC the cards when they arrive, no issues. But if you hoped to get some of the first printed Bedard's on the market .. probably not going to happen with Artifacts.
