It will be one and done in the playoffs. The defense looks like the 85 Bears.

The 85 Bears went 15-1 with a defense that ranks:
  • 1st in fewest points allowed, 198 or about 12.4 per game. The 2nd place team (49ers) gave up 263 points or about 16.4.
  • 1st in fewest yards allowed with 4,135.
  • 1st in takeaways with 54.
  • 1st in fewest first downs allowed.
  • generally regarded as one of if not the greatest defense of all-time.

The 2022 Vikings, so far, are 10-3 with a defense that ranks:
  • 25th fewest points allowed, 313 or about 24 per game.
  • 32nd in fewest yards allowed with 5,248
  • t-7th in takeaways with 20.
  • 27th in fewest first downs allowed.

Look, I know you hate Minnesota and Chicago fans so much but at least make your insults make factual sense.

That’s the rub. All his put downs (?) are factually incorrect.

Sarcasm is not your strong suit I see. I personally think their defense more closely resembles the 2000 Ravens.

I was at the game.

Vikings fans were wondering WTF the Minnesota coaches were doing? It was laughably incompetent. Especially that idiotic "jump pass" by Cook at the goal line.

Lions fans were simply laughing at Minnesota coaching and said thanks for that.

This team is different.

I'm not even saying they're good here. But they're different

Unreal.

I was unfortunately not able to watch Saturday but get score alerts. I was thinking it wasn’t our day when Colts scored in so many ways. My son and wife were saying at half there’s a chance and I said it was unlikely that things would turn drastically in a half. We were laughing as it got closer and the fact the Vikings had a chance to win in regulation was amazing. Crazy…

The question is will they win a game in the playoffs? Remember Matt Ryan and Jeff Saturday won't be there to bail them out.

Sat vs Giants will be a very interesting game. Will the Vikings win another close one or will they roll over and die like they did vs Cowboys after the miracle in Buffalo?

The Giants are a terrible team, Captain Kirk rolls.

Hockenson was such a good pickup. Dude has been awesome for us. JJ continues to be the elite of the elite, just another week for him

Defense continues to be unable to put anyone away which is a problem. But somehow this team just keeps pulling it off

Shoutout to Greg Joseph, what a kick to win it!

On Hockenson, he has been definitely contributing, and maybe helps free up JJ a bit (considering Theilen's decline). He's getting A LOT of targets, so he must be getting open, but he's had a few very untimely drops too. More good than bad, for sure, though.

Very true, he has had a few really bad drops lately. Overall though has been a great weapon

Not really related to anything in particular, but Harrison Phillips is a cool dude and super easy to root for

Vikings looking like what they truly are.....a mediocre defensive team (31st in points allowed) that has gotten extremely lucky and has therefore managed to win 12 games despite having a -19 point differential.

My Vikings playoff prediction:

Vikings will win every game by 1 score or less...until they either get blown out by 3+ scores or win the Super Bowl. This will be determined by the game start time. If it's noon (central time) on a Sunday, Vikings win, any other game start time is borderline cryptonite.

Vikings aren't winning the Super Bowl, so the big question is if they will get blown out by the Giants at home, in San Francisco, or in Philly? My guess is they beat the Giants in a close one, then get blown out by the 49ers. That's probably best case, but that 3 PM start time on Sunday against the Giants doesn't have me feeling very confident.

Why don't I think the Vikings will win the Super Bowl?
1. I like to set my expectations super low, so that I can only be either not disappointed or pleasantly surprised.
2. They haven't...ever...
3. From my 38 years of on this earth, I'm convinced the NFC championship game is unwinnable. There is some supernatural force inhibiting my favorite team from getting past this invisible wall.

That said, this is a super weird year. Anything can happen, just not this...and I will keep saying that until I am proven wrong.

It just feels like bizarro 2017. Instead of a shittastic offensive line and a good but banged up defense now the offense is there but the defense is not good at all. I only expect them to get past the Niners if they have atrocious QB play and definitely don't expect them to get past the Eagles. The Giants are not a good team at all so if they struggle with that one it's gonna be a rude awakening later I'm guessing. But hey it's football, a few screwy plays can change fortunes. Never know, could bumble your way to a storied championship and in a way that'd feel neater than a juggernaut team doing what people expect them to.
