Opened a couple boxes finally, and all my autos were crap. The only decent card I pulled was a Mobley Blue /99, which looks like it's probably worth ~$300. What do you guys think, sell now while there aren't any '21 products out, or grade and hope it comes back before we have more products diluting the market? I honestly can't believe this card is worth $300 but the LaMelo listed at $150 hasn't even sold.

Thanks guys, that's the way I was leaning because the prices felt too high. I really want a nice Mobley but will wait for Prizm/Optic or Contenders/Noir

edit: just opened a box of Donruss and got a Mobley Next Day

I’m surprised by how cheap some of these Spellbounds are this year. I know the production must be way up compared to last year, but I remember buying LaMelo and Luka base Spellbounds last year in the $30-$40 range per card (and it looks like some of these are even more expensive now). This year I’ve won auctions as cheap as $1.04 for a Giannis, a few Currys in the $5-10 range, and some Zion & CP3 for less than $4 each. Panini succeeded in tanking the value on these pretty quickly.

It also helped that last year Gold and Black were the only spellbound parallels. Part of the issue with more parallels, besides deluding things further, is that the colors don’t look great for every player. For Giannis, I already put together the Orange and want to put together purple, but no interest in Blue. The Blue does look great for Ja, Zion, and Curry though.

My guess is the print run of only parallels combined for this year’s spellbounds is pretty similar to the total print run of last year’s base.

I was thinking about picking some up but I'm not a fan of the design. I'll just wait till they pop up on COMC to pick some if they are cheap.

I agree, I really like the embossing on the card. It doesn’t look as good in photos but definitely looks better in hand. I do wish it had a Holo finish like last year’s set, but I don’t think embossed cards typically have a Holo surface (unless it is a refractor like 1997-98 Finest).

Also, did anyone notice that they messed up the “E” in LeBron and printed the letter waaaaay too small on the front of the card? I got one off eBay and it just came in the mail today, and I thought there was an error with my copy, but then I looked online and saw that they were all like that. It looks ridiculous next to the rest of the letters, like it got shrunk in the wash or something, haha.

Picked up the Kuminga Red Die-cut. I think these are some of the nicest cards they've produced.

I don't think it was a mistake, they are just treating it as a lowercase E as a part of LeBRON - just like DeAngelo.

That’s a good point, I didn’t think of that. Although, if that was their intention maybe they should have used a lowercase letter. Right now it’s written as a capital E, but it’s just so much smaller and still looks strange to me, haha.

Just picked up a Cade blue amd Giddey orange. The team color matches really pop with this set. If any of the top rookies pan out, I think this set will have some staying power over similar mid price releases from this year.

Very nice! It really shines in the sunlight. I think if I had the funds I'd try to collect more in the red die-cut. For now I'm going to try and pick up Warriors players in blue for the uniform match.

I really like them. Prices are steep ($4.5k price tag for Ja and $4.2k for Lamelo) but it’s a 1/1 so I guess it will always carry a premium.

I’ve been looking for some Platinum but the players I want to PC hasn’t popped.
