I predict some very expensive holes in my Rhino and Firestar collections because of this set.

Unless my fragile memory has already failed me since I listened this morning, he also said they went back and got the team that did the original PMGs in the 90's to design these new ones.

Edit: Ah yeah, you mentioned above

They went back to the Fleer makers of the original PMGs? That's actually really cool. I mean they could have just gone back to what UD itself was doing a few years ago- those FUSM PMGs etc were brilliant and shiny. Not sure why have to go back to Fleer, but no complaints here, that's awesome.

They are making a shiny green parallel in addition to the green PMG? That seems kind of confusing with two green parallels. Not sure that makes a lot of sense, probably should have stayed with the black.

I guess the lack of buybacks makes sense since they already used up the whole 1995 Metal set. 1995 FUSM would be another natural choice, but already used for FUSM. They could have gone with some other Spidey set like 94 Fleer Spiderman, 96 Spiderman Premium, but those dont really fit imo.

I'm a little confused by the chioce as well. He did state it was "Neon Green" as opposed to green green? Haha. He mentioned something about it being difficult to do with black. I'm going to assume that has something to do with the foil being on paper as opposed to a chrome type technology. Black Chrome are obviously readily available and beautiful, so I assume he meant that doing black foil on paper must either be difficult or you just lose the luster no matter how they put it on? Shrug.

He also mentioned that MSRP would be virtually the same as X-Men. Hopefully that'll mean that the price on ePack will be virtually the same.

I am so crazily excited for this set. I wish I could've afforded to buy a whole case.

I'm still wondering if the will be other Marvel pmgs in this set like with 2017.

If this is the case I dont see how it wont be an almost immediate sell out....boxes going for like 1/4 of market price. Will be interesting!

Aren't boxes already over mrsp? And we are still several months out from release. Price will keep climbing until release.

We're talking about buying on UD's ePack website. They'll likely price it close to/the same as MUXM with the MSRP being the same.

Forgive the ignorance as me and Epack only recently got together…but what’s to stop one of the big 3 or any of these bigger breakers from buying 100 cases the moment this drops, sitting on them and group breaking them later? Is that a possibility? Again, kinda new to the Epack thing..

Totally possible but I don't think anything exactly like that has happened yet. There are group breaks on there, though I've never taken part. Pretty sure I mentioned it, either here or on the MUXM thread, but I wouldn't be surprised if it does happen...specifically with this product.

On a side note, I have never really looked into UD's TOS, but it could be against the rules to do group breaks there. That might be a good thing for anyone who's thinking of attempting it to look into .

I don’t think breakers without a brick and mortar card shop can buy direct from UD.

I am not sure buying super large amounts of this would be a good idea, FUXM was bought mostly by 1 guy and the prices on that have been fairly stagnant. This one might be different as there is a lot of hype and its in a hot market but if no one gets at least a taste then it might be hard to see prices increase

I’ve never tried buying more than one case of anything on e-Pack. Is the limit 99 cases per transaction? Or 99 items if for some reason you wanted to buy 99 packs or 99 boxes?

With the site melting down when Spider-Man Metal drops, a transaction limit could stop anyone from trying to corner the market.

On the podcast he said "Mid-Summer" subject to supply chain issues, of course.

Allure is a couple months later and Beginnings hopefully by year end.

So, they are hoping to just get 3 Marvel Physical products out the door this year. Not the 1 every other month they originally targeted.

If physical Spider-Man Metal comes out mid-summer that means we won’t see it on e-Pack until December or January, right? There’s usually a six month delay between physical and e-Pack?

X-Men Metal was live physical around 6/20. If anyone remembers when it went to epack- maybe like Sept or October? Then that was only like a 3-4 month lag.

Edit: I mean 6/20 as in the 20th of June. The year was 2021

2020-21 Marvel Annual came out in early/mid-January and hit ePack this past week. So roughly 4-months.

Fingers crossed with all these delays and fewer products for the whole calendar year, prospectors will move on. They won't, but I can hope, right?

The delays are good for me because I need to save up some money before this hits e-Pack.

The delays are bad for just about everyone because the hype is only going to keep building over the next few months until physical is released and then probably explode until e-Pack.

Default 2022 Spidey Metal

Yea I’m in the same boat with MM, what I primarily collect- I will have a lot of time to save up money for it from the looks of it.

I’m just curious to see how this epack thing plays out with the large difference in market value vs epack price. I don’t think think there’s ever been an immediate sell out of a major print run release (not talking about weekly Marvel Unbound). Even x-men Metal took a surprisingly long time to sell out despite the great popularity of that set and having PMGs.

But from the box price trajectory of this vs x-men Metal, this is already looking more nuts.

I hope they are printing more. We already know a retail SKU is coming.

I was at my local hobby shop this morning and asked about the status of Spider-Man Metal. The owner told me Upper Deck is 30 sets behind and doesn't tell retailers anything until shortly before release. His checked his distributor's website, it said "Unknown" for a release date. He didn't know anything about a retail version.
