^^^As I mentioned earlier, I will take a Chrome Super over any non-2012 Prizm Gold/10 even if I was primarily a collector. Also, If I want to have one high Brady card for my PC, it would be his Champ Ticket. My 2nd choice would be his RC Gold refractor, which unfortunately does not exist. Same with Lebron. My first choice would be his Exquisite RPA, followed by TC Gold Refractor and then everything else. Those are the first cards high end collectors/investors like Fitbit CEO, Mike Novaratz etc are going after as well. They are not acquiring 2012 Gold Prizms/10 as their first choice even though they are rarer than Brady Champ Ticket/100, Lebron Exquisite RPA 99 and TC Gold Refractor/50.

A gem mint 2012 Gold Prizm will outsell the 2012 TC or any other non-RC Super imo. A non-2012 Gold Prizm will not outsell a TC Super. 2012 is the first year of Prizm and hence has a desirability factor to it.

I think that would be a pretty good battle. The 2012 Topps Chrome Superfractor 1/1 vs the 2012 Prizm Gold PSA 10 POP 1. I think the same collector wins them both though.

I feel as though it’s been hinted at that private market offers for the 2012 gold prizm owned by one of the members here have been well in excess of what the 2014 tc superfractor went for last night, which is probably a decent approximation of what the 2012 tc superfractor would go for. So I would think the 2012 gold (if you believe the member and those offers are real) would best the 2012 super…?

I wonder what the two 1/1 2012 prizms would go for? I’ve still never seen either of them…!

Big shout out to derekbauer for the complimentary Heath Miller green prizm! At least half of my set is either green, red die cut, or silver! It been a challenging and fun project.

Nice! I’ll keep my eyes out at any shows I go to for ya as well. They don’t really seem to be around it’s either vintage or ultra modern these days lol

This is good news

I should probably put my Michael Crabtree and Mike Wallace in magnetic one touches then

I wonder what I could get for my Frank Gore?

Yeah I don’t think any raw gold will do less than $200 anymore. Last Crabtree did 205 if I remember correctly.

Gore raw I really couldn’t even estimate. I’m running the AJ green right now at 1300 just to gauge any interest (I don’t expect it to sell). I’ve had a high offer of $600 though and the Green is very off center. The market is very strong.

Someone give me frothy analysis of the historic Doug Martin and Justin Blackmon closing bids

Not great.

I was surprised at how low the Martin winning bid was, as he was a pretty good running back for several years.

Others argue the rookies don't garner much because of the design of the cards.

either way, I think the rookie golds are a steal relative to the "non-rookie" golds. Or maybe the recent ebay sales of golds are being driven up by two or three anxious bidders looking to fill their sets?

I think it’s a combo of all of that really.

Gold rookies could be had for cheap for the longest time. They still haven’t caught up to the base and probably never will. This is the main reason for the price difference.

I personally don’t think Doug Martin has any type of strong fan base and the PSA 10 was available forever until it was recently purchased. This makes me think the true Doug Martin collector got what he was looking for.

Justin Blackmon is Justin Blackmon lol.

Some of these base cards haven’t come up in a long time and if there are a few people chasing the set it will help explain as well.

To be honest I was bidding on some of these. Went hard for two of them but fell short.

The recent surge in high prices is going to bring some out of the woodwork so I think the opportunity to buy will be soon. Then they will disappear into collections for a while.

Wow…so awesome to see when collectors have both the 1/1 auto and non-auto versions from 2012 prizm!
