Gophers shot 46% and 50% from 3 tonight. Not going to lose many games shooting those clips. I feel we would have beat any team in the conference minus Purdue and Illinois with those clips. Purdue is just really good and has the size that Minnesota lacks. Although, I will say, for Edey being 7'4, 300lbs, he gets some of the softest calls I have ever seen. Refs were blowing the whistle the second the ball was entered into the post. It didnt make a difference, clearly, but I thought it was funny that you cant even touch a guy that big without it being a foul. But again, Purdue is really good.

One more tough game for the Gophers against Iowa at their place. I think it is winnable but going to have to play a great game. Then we finally get our first game in the Big Ten schedule that isnt against a top half team in the conference.

Purdue and Illinois are the two best teams in the Big 10. So much for Minnesota competing with the top of the conference.

So we just want to forget games against all the other teams? MSU twice, Wisconsin, Iowa, etc?

Also, I'd say, considering the circumstances, the Gophers competed pretty damn well against Purdue. It was a 6 point game with 11 minutes left and I'm the 9-11 point range for most of the game until the final 3 minutes when the Gophers couldn't find the bottom of the net. We knew it was going to be a loss, but I expected a much less competitive game. The Gophers shoot 46% from the field and 50% from three in a game, they are beating most teams in the Big Ten. Just so happened those clips were against Purdue. Purdue and Illinois are the two teams Minnesota cannot match up with due to size. I've mentioned that several times.

Why you are offended with a Minnesota team that is filled with low-mid major transfers competing with the upper echelon of the Big Ten, is beyond me. Ben Johnson has done a fantastic job considering he had to build an entire roster in two months and lost two big contributors in Parker Fox and Isaiah Ihnen before the season even started.

Fighting Illini all alone at the top of the Big Ten. Great domination last night over Wisky and a statement game for Kofi in the POY race. Once Curbelo is healthy we will be on another level.

The 4 point performance in 2-13 shooting might have just removed Johnny Davis from being a POTY front-runner.

I-N-I! The orange & blue is looking great right now but the trip to West Lafayette on Tuesday night will be really tough. Gotta enact revenge after that double OT loss in Champaign a few weeks ago.

Ugly game for the Gophers. Had a 47-43 lead with 16 minutes remaining and then went absolutely ice cold and Iowa got hot. Iowa did a great job defending Battle, which is the first team that has been able to. This years Gophers womt win games with Battle in single digits. Next year when we have more depth, maybe

You can go to post one and see that I knew we wouldnt be good this season. But we have been close, which has been fun. This team under Ben Johnson has been more fun than any Gophers team Pitino coached, outside of 2018-19 when Amir Coffey carried the Gophers down the stretch. Next year the Gophers should be better with 4 nice incoming freshman, Fox and Ihnen back from injury, and Battle, Thompson returning. They will need a PG in the portal though.

Positive thing, Gophers are finally going to hit the part of their schedule where they get to play Nebraska. Penn State x2, Northwestern x2, and Maryland. Are they all going to be wins, most likely not, but you never know.

Are we bad? Not necessarily. We are a bunch of mid-major players that have been competing hard. Are we good? Most certainly not. But it is encouraging to see what Ben Johnson has done overall with having to piece together 11 players in two months. I think in two years, Johnson could have this program as a consistent 20+ win team.

This is the most embarrassing effort the Gophers have given all year. We deserve to lose.

Huskers win! Now can’t go 0-fer anymore. What a sad season. Wonder if this is the only win or are there more to come? Will anyone care?

Purdue is the real deal. I think the B1G will represent well in this years Sweet 16.

Big win for my Scarlet Knights last night against the Buckeyes. Still need a couple of more wins against the upper echelon teams in Big Ten to get into tournament, but beating MSU and OSU has given them a chance.

She is fun to watch. Against opponents like Michigan she really has to carry the team. If she had a better team around he Iowa would be really tough.

That was the Michigan team everyone expected coming into the season. And Purdue had an absolute clunker shooting. 22% from three is an outlier for them, but it does happen from time to time with them.

Finally watched some Ohio State hoops while I was on vacation this week - they remind me of last year's squad where they are a mostly talented team that is going to struggle to score (and have the potential to be an early tournament out again this year).

Agreed, win out now and secure at least a share of the big ten title.

Yeah, terrible first half but showed some energy. Refs were genuinely awful…

Who’s Michigan’s new coach going to be?

Howard wont get fired for that. Michigan just flat out won't. He will get a hefty suspension. Both sides will likely have suspensions as Gard and co. arent innocent in this situation either. Howard was going for the walk by handshake and Gard pushed him back to have a "conversation" after calling a pointless timeout when the game was over. Both sides are guilty in how it transpired. Will be interesting to see who gets suspended and for how long. Howard's suspension could definitely be for the rest of the season.
