With Everton's loss today the last unbeaten record has gone after 6 games played, that's the earliest for 53 years.

The key word is PARITY. I think it will make this season exciting and watchable right to the last match on the last day for all supporters regardless of your team.

On another note, and I hesitate to post this as I avoid usually avoid anything political, it seems that Paul Pogba has now said he "quit playing for France" in connection with President Macron's comments about Islamist terrorism. You can read the article here:

the fact it was only reported in dodgy middle eastern papers and then picked up second hand by the scum should have told anyone all they needed to know really

propaganda perpetuated unwittingly by a dire redtop desperate for anything to destabilise English soccer.

I'd be worrying about your insidious rot at your own club before you start looking at one of the best run clubs in world football mr (it's weird after 20 years of hell to be able to say that haha.. almost like a dream!)

Sounds like Man Utd's are making a move for Pochettino. Supposedly they didn't want to make it this soon, not sure why as OGS is obviously out of his depth, but PSG are looking at replacing Tuchel and Poch would be near the top of their list. Surprise, surprise it's the senior PSG players wanting Tuchel out, it'll be a brave manager that takes on that dressing room.

Poch will be interesting, hope he can get the best out of the players.

at the moment we are a counter attacking team, works against teams who press or attack a lot.

anyone taking the Man Utd job needs their head looking at without some concrete guarantees from the board - it's a five year project at least.

Southampton end a day top of the pile for the first time since September 1988. In the very next game against Arsenal Paul Davis broke Glen Cockerill's jaw in an off the ball incident and picked up a 9 game ban after the first ever use of retroactive video evidence. If I remember correctly Millwall went top for the last time too almost straight after.

Shout out to Goran Pandev who scored the winner today to send North Macedonia to EURO 2020, their first ever major tournament. I didn't realise he was still playing, there can't be too many other members of Mourinho's treble winning 09/10 Inter team still going (Balotelli who was only 20 at the time is another).

44 penalties in their last 127 games for Manchester United.

Stinks.

They were lucky that the WBA pen was overturned, that was bizarre. Technically under the current rules that was a pen for Man Utd and technically yes the keeper was off his line but the whole chain of events left a bitter taste. The really weird thing is it seems like Man Utd are getting more penalties without the fans. For the first time ever away teams are winning more games than home teams as every game is pretty much on neutral ground without fans. Why that's not evening out the pens I don't know, perhaps it's a deliberate tactic to fire in as many crosses at the body level.

Elsewhere Haaland celebrates the Golden Boy award with just the 4 goals and Atletico beat Barcelona to go 9 points ahead of them and 3 of Real with a game in hand. Barcelona are a mess, closer to the relegation places than the leaders under Koeman. All in the same week they find out their salary cap will be cut by 40% next season.

I'd wager Raul Jimenez is likely to retire after his injury at the weekend. A horrible collision with David Luiz, which resulted in Raul being rushed to hospital where we was later diagnosed with a fractured skull.

I was watching without any of the fake crowd noise, absolutely sickening sound when it happened. Wish him all the best in his recovery, I agree it could very well be the end of his career. I think Ryan Mason took spent a year recovering and trying to come back before the reality set in and he retired on medical advice. Completely irresponsible to allow Luiz to continue too, football needs to get more strict on head injuries, introduce an extra concussion sub if needed.

They should have an independent medical team too.

Have a feeling PSG are going to beat Man Utd on Wednesday. They have been really getting away with some poor performances in recent games. West Brom were the better team for most of the game, they got out of jail against Brighton & Southampton. I think when they play genuinely strong teams with quality forwards, I can see some serious problems for them, like what happened when they played Spurs. Also less pressure on PSG playing away.
