Home run in 2nd ML at bat. Not that he needs help, but he is going to abuse the short LF porch (shortest in baseball) at Minute Maid. That’s where his power plays.

Me too. I’d rather see Mayfield, Straw, White and a pitcher sent down. They have too many RH arms as it is. James or Brady can go back down

Ironic. Kyle Tucker has a RC in 2019 product but Alvarez won’t from Topps. I personally don’t buy it. If this guy sets the league on fire and jumps into ROY contention they’d have to put him in Update. I can’t see Topps letting Panini so all of the heavy lifting. So if he’s not in Update I assume he wouldn’t be in Chrome Update either.
I don’t believe it.

It looks like it might be Albert Pujols 2.0. Pujols came up and was only suppsed to stay until someone got healthy or was just supposed to play every couple games.... can't remember....his bat made the decision a little harder for upper management and you see what he's done. If Yordan keeps hitting.... he will stay in the bigs.

I’m thinking the same thing. He keeps hitting and Topps will have no choice but to put him into a couple of the later sets like HHN and Update.

The annoying part to me is that it is literally just a ploy by Topps. Players who get traded on July 31st have new cards in update, so should rookies called up before the 31st.

I wonder if this is direct result of us as a collective group stating how bad the rookie class for series 1 was and how loaded Update will be.

The story was he made the team cause someone got hurt, I tbibk it was Bonilla, but did so well they couldn’t send him done

Tony Larussa always said that wasn’t true and he was going to make the team either way

I think it’s awesome that Houston finally has a big slugger. Springer is 6’4” and they have several guys 6’3”. Alvarez adds that “Stanton/Judge” presence to their lineup. That HR he hit yesterday looked like an iron shot on the back 9. The way he whipped his wrists and still got enough lift in it was incredible. I heard one person on the Astros say he still has yet to fully extend on his swing yet. Oh baby.

This is what I was thinking.
Not as familiar with baseball products as many are on here, but isn't it possible for him to be in TCU even if not in regular Update?
