for me, if Soto were in 2018, i would buy the $10 blasters. but since he is not, its an easy pass

this years stadium blasters will be interesting in 8 months time. last years blasters suck because they did did not include Acuna & Gleyber in the base set

Here we are almost a year out and topps still doesn't know what happened to the wood 1/1 mini cards from 2018.

Will a checklist really make people feel more confident? What content will topps forget to put in packs this year?

I mean, how does topps laugh in everyone's face leaving out thousands of dollars of content out of packs and yet here you all are ready to open your wallets again?

Because it is the right thing to do. Topps won't notice if I don't buy a case, but if Brent passes on his hundreds of cases he usually gets, then that sends a message to topps that his isn't ok.

Maybe Im over reaching here, maybe accidentally leaving out all the 1/1
cards out of a release isn't so bad?

It's not a Ginter issue. It's a Topps issue. Boycotting 2019 Ginter doesn't fix the problem. Boycotting ALL of 2019 would be the only logical starting point. There is no correlation whatsoever between 2018 Wood minis and 2019 Wood minis. Of course people will give Topps the benefit of the doubt. When you release 40 baseball products and one of those 40 had a major issue, people will overlook it if the other 39 turned out okay. And considering how much money we all made on 2018 product, it was an error we were willing to forgive. Brent wouldn't boycott Ginter because of last year's issues on that one product, knowing he made a killing on multiple other releases.

That being said, Brent will be on a cruise when Ginter is released (completely unrelated to Ginter, as he's also skipping Topps Chrome for vacation).

The truth is, people are going to buy regardless. It’s unfortunate, but it’s true. However, the wood minis will likely see a significant drop in value based on certain people no longer buying them because of the 2018 screwup.

I started to PC ginter last year. It's my favorite product by far.

I'm in for a case this year and may even pick up another one.

I did in 2012, took a 7 year break from the hobby, and intend to this year as well. Despite the wood mini fiasco. I love the set, easily my favorite. It’s a shame what happened last year but I’m willing let it slide as long as it isn’t repeated.

In this case Topps have said they don’t have the wood minis. They explicitly stated they gave them to the company that pack out the product. They very carefully did not say they made it into the product. Instead they said the packing company told us they’re in the product.
ie reading between the lines Topps don’t believe them but can’t prove anyone screwed up or stole them.
(The only other theory is that they were mistakenly packed out as regular minis. Which means two cases would be the motherlode.)
