This is important information. Forgive my ignorance and curiosity; how do you know this? When you say "manufacturers" who are you referring to? What printing technology are they using?

Pretty common knowledge, especially if you're a reseller.

Guangdong/Shenzen (sp?) are the counterfeit capitals of the world. Basically entire large cities devoted to nothing but manufacturing plants/warehouses specializing in everything from plastic fidget spinners to replica software and large automotive parts and electronics. Pretty much everything you see wholesale on Ebay and alibaba are from there.

A lot of the legit stuff is actually manufactured in the same places they create the replicas/b-stock items. Just by rogue employees off the clock. They can use the same or similar materials but the level of craftsmanship will always be lacking and there will be subtle differences and imperfections.

They won't ship branded stuff from these cities because it's an automatic red flag for customs inspection and will inevitably become seized. So they branch the final products out to Taiwan and other 'higher class' cities and countries for shipping to try and avert this.

I have no idea how they're making these cards, but I'd wager good money in saying that they're not using run of the mill printers you can buy from office max or most local printing shops. Most likely these are large industrial printing presses similar to the ones Panini and Topps use, which is how they're able to create custom stamping dies to do intricate foil stuff.

I'm certainly no expert, but a lot of this stuff is mightily impressive despite the small nuances, which is why I've shied away from 90's and 2000's inserts completely. I reckon they'll continue refining their processes as more and more fakes become spotted, just like they do with everything else.

Stay safe.

The Kobe rubies, it seems like I've seen that card pop up on Ebay a few times before.

Might be worth looking into worthpoint to find them. Its also possible these have been graded before as well.

They all seem to pass the initial eye test for me so I would lean toward real.

Was looking at those myself. My biggest concern was how clean the TS ones look. Maybe those don't chip as much.

Please see the following thread.

In general, around BGS 0008XXXXX is when a bunch of fakes appeared for this card. Earlier copies are safe (I can't comment on PSA graded copies of this as I haven't seen enough).

This is just a regular card, right? I've seen one of the reds in person but I figure even in a group shot, the green should "pop" more than this.

As much as I'd love to go into detail, I'm afraid it would only help the forgers improve their fakes. I've shared everything with PSA, and if anyone ever wants to know if a particular auction is fake they're welcome to PM me and I'll happily help. But I don't think sharing the specific information here is a good idea...
