Not that you are asking... I am chasing one full set, one artist set, and Mays / Clemente set.

I think his Ripken is top 3 best looking card in the set and his Brett is top 5. I dont understand the appeal of the artists like ermsy and fucci. King saladeen is my favorite,
followed by siff. Just different tastes.

He might be my favorite artist, but the Ryan was too busy and didn't have a theme. I almost went with him as my artist set, but realized there isn't a cohesiveness if I displayed all 20 cards together. You would probably think it was 20 different artists!

Anyway, I sold my Brett when they hit $250. Ended up buying the Mattingly the other day because it's so different from any other cards in this set.

The only artist I'm doing the full set for is saladeen. I'm picking up other singles I like.

Siff Ripken is incredible

reminds me of Bill Sienkiewicz

That's awesome man. So the full 400, then one artist set of Siff? And the 20 runs of Mays & Clemente? I actually would love to know what everyone here is after but I know some are still playing it closer to the chest for the time being.

It'd be great if I were to able to put together just one artist set & one player set but still discerning my options.

Do you like the full Siff set together through 4-5 cards released or just the singles?

Just the Ripken and Brett I like. When I first saw the Ryan I thought someone posted it as a joke, lol. The Mattingly is ok.

The lack of similarity is what changed my mind about collecting Siff. I do have the Siff Brett because i'm collecting the Brett run.

For my PC, I decided to go with Efdot and Jk5. Each has a cohesive style and I love all the easter eggs in Efdot's work. I can stare at JK5's cards for hours. I guess he's already mapped out what his entire set looks like together.

I'm also collecting Beck, Shore, Fucci, Cartoon, and Jamieson but not keeping all as personals. I'll wait until the end of the project to decide.

Not chasing a Siff set; I just picked up his Ripken because people were raving about it and now I can see why.

I am doing sets of Chang, Jamieson, Ermsy, Shore and Efdot. Also considering a King Saladeen set since I have his full run thus far. I wanted to do a Beck set but I can’t afford his Gooden.

I wonder if his entire set will form some sort of larger Star Wars-themed picture when all the cards are put together. Now that would be cool.

Yes, Siff was the first guy I decided to 'set collect'.

Yeah, I love Gregory's work. I think his set is going to be one of the most eclectic of the entire Project. He experiments with so many different mediums. The original George Brett card is a layered collage.

His Nolan Ryan card is so different too, and he was a huge Mets fan as a kid when I look at his Ryan card I think of a young kid doodling in his notebook in history class.

I know he is super stoked about his Jeter too.

I think he and Efdot are going to make a great pair tomorrow. Bummed I missed out on the earlier Efdot cards. His McGwire is an homage to his grandmother who did stained glass work.

I wish I could go back and collect Taylor. There's something going on with the color transition between each card. I want to see all 20 in a single row when he's done.

Well - that is not totally correct, basically two (2) total sets, one full run and then one to display the artists, thought is to get the majority of them now, as they will be priced outside my range later.

Then another run of Mays and Clemente - it was Cartoon's Clemente that got me interested

I am also working on Auto sets (these would count in my full artist runs) of Blake and Efdot (but need the first two of Efdot). Missed out on King and never around for Siff nor Shore's when they go live.

I just like the accessibility of this set - you can get whatever you want for those two days.

Also thankful for the reprieve today and some contraction / accumulation stage. Be interesting to see when the number post.

Only have the Siff Ripken in hand and it is awesome! The colors are majestic and POPS

Because of that one, I had to get the Mattingly. Do not have the Other Siff's and probably won't due to cost plus the Ryan did not endear itself to me and I missed the Brett (which I would love now).

The only artist I have a shot at is Don C and that means I have to buy a damn Gooden

Edit: Missing the Williams and Mays in the JK5 set.

Great stuff guys. You both got into P2020 before me and that's pretty awesome you'll both be able to piece together some really nice artist sets.

I'm kind of scrambling to piece together Jamieson, Chang, and Shore.
I'll most likely get Frank Thomas' full run. Would've done the Ichiro run if Ballers Ichiro wasn't so expensive.
Then grabbed a few low PR cards I wanted: Beck Griffey, Grotesk Clemente, Efdot Mays and a couple recent release 2-packs

This is why I love Chang’s take. I’ve mentioned this before, her work brings back nostalgic memories of me doodling in my notebook while in school in the 90s.

For anyone that has doubts on Gregory Siff's talent.

Watch this interview.

He experiments with so many different mediums, and his cards are all analogue.

I thought Shore’s art was ridiculous at first but it somehow kept growing on me. Then I pictured how cool it would look as set so I bit the bullet and picked up his first three cards before their prices got out of hand. His Gibson just puts a smile on my face.

That's incredible. Looking forward to seeing it together! Agreed that the method of release of this set, combined with the wildly varying print runs and artist designs is such a genius stroke by Topps. I hadn't collected baseball in years before finding out about this set.

It's probably not the popular opinion here but Ballers Frank Thomas was my first card and I grabbed a few. I thought it was so ridiculous. Then of course had to get Keith Shore's stuff for similar reasons.

For anyone ready to throw themselves off a bridge after the Shore Griffery print run today

Take a breathe.

Consider the fact that it might be one of the most iconic baseball cards/pop art pieces of the last 10 years.

Also, buckle up for possibly the best 1-2 card punch up to this point with the Siff Jeter and Efdot Gwynn dropping on Thursday.

You don't need to buy 1000 of these, but at least pick up one for yourself.

5/28/20 is gonna be a beautiful day in Topps 2020 lore.

PSA: To all the flippers and Johnny Come Lately's to this Project.

Get yourself a player run or an artist run.

As you see everything start to grow an manifest, you're going to have yourself a beautiful piece of art.

Flip and hustle if you must, but make a player or artist run for yourself

I was initially perturbed by Siff's lack of a unifying 'theme', but the more of his set that's revealed, the more I appreciate the diversity of it. I think his unifying theme really is simply 'chaos', 'stream of consciousness', or something of that sort. I also like artists like Ermsy or Shore because they do have a single theme. In the end, I've decided on collecting a few subsets; several artists and a couple of player sets.

Initially, I only cared about the artists, but the more I got into the set, the more I realized that I'd appreciate a single player set with one sample from each artist. If prices fall further, I'll probably pick up an Efdot McGwire to allow me to add Big Mac to my list of player sets. Out of all the player sets so far, I think the McGwire is my favorite. Love the Naturel and Jamieson cards for Big Mac.

Artist Sets I'm building
  • Siff
  • Ermsy
  • Shore
  • Naturel (I like the triangles)
  • Jamieson

Player sets I'm building
  • Don Mattingly
  • Nolan Ryan
  • Big Mac if the Efdot falls back to earth

TopCashback is a bit slower than other sites to get cash in your account given some stores have wait periods to account for returns but this site gets you maximum cash back vs. their competitors and I vouch for it given my experience. I don’t think referral links are allowed here. That said, I use topcashback along with other cash back sites too.
