Well hopefully he can keep up the incredible playoff run he has had now 2 years in a row and make another World Series . Just a generational talent and leader .. but with Harper I’m used to someone trying to turn it around. Happens all the time .. 12 years now

Once again .. the amazing playoff run

Harper, with three so far in 2023, has 14 in 42 postseason games. Indeed, out of 192 players with at least 150 career postseason plate appearances, Harper ranks fifth in OPS at 1.017, putting him near the top of a leaderboard featuring names like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, George Brett

If you want to compare him to Reggie Jackson then he needs to show up in the World Series. He was a no show last year.

12 years he's been proving he's this generation's Mr October?

2012 he was 3-23 with 2 rbi
2014 he was 5-17 with 5 rbi
2016 he was 4-17 with 1 rbi
2017 he was 4-19 with 3 rbi

Then he missed the playoffs 4 straight years.

Wrong, it's been 3 post season series out of 10 that he's done anything

There is no doubt that Bryce is not as accomplished as Reggie in the playoffs. But, statistically speaking from an individual standpoint, he has a very close similarity.

Bryce

42 games
158 at bats
.285 BA
.384 OB
.633 Slug
1.017 OPS
14 home runs

Reggie
77 games
281 at bats
.278 BA
.358 OB
.527 slug
.885 OPS
18 home runs

I don't need to. Reggie got the nickname from his performance in the World Series.

Saying Bryce Harper is this generation's Mr. October because he crushed the Braves a couple times is a bit of stretch. Hell, Jeremy Pena won the ALCS MVP and WS MVP last year. He has almost as much claim to the nickname as Harper.

17 Games
77 Plate Appearances
.329 BA
.355 OBP
.575 SLG
.931 OPS
4 Home Runs

Easy to overlook that Washington traded Harper away, then won a WS without him.

Why do people keep thinking the Nationals traded Harper?

You’re right, they didn’t resign him. My mistake.
I was thinking of Soto.

Wash won without Harper.
Philadelphia lost with him.
Atlanta won without Acuna.
Atlanta lost with him.

Baseball is funny that way.

Pure coincidence they won without him and just sheer luck they won at all

Well Harper won the NLCS MVP last year and that wasn't against the Braves.

Did he lead the team to a World Series victory?

You are right he has been incredible .. let’s hope he can keep it and get back to the World Series 2 years in a row

After last years incredible run to the World Series .. then major surgery and coming back 3 months early. Having an incredible year. Now dominating the playoffs.

Its stuff of legends

He's no Reggie Jackson in terms of what he's done in the World Series.

A great 2 post season outside the WS after 10 years of okay post seasons. Yup, real stuff of legends.

Reggie has 10 WS home runs and 24 WS RBI and was a 2 time WS MVP. Sorry, Harper has been good, but he's not even close to Reggie Jackson level yet.

And if even the first version of the wild card existed, he would have had 4 more appearances in playoffs.

I’m with you. I’m excited to see if he can add to his ongoing post season legacy

Would be amazing to go to 2 World Series in a row ..

Add all this recent post season success with his 2 league mvps

He’s becoming generational ….
