Is there a special ceremony for when you become a 'regular'?

I am sure other store owners can echo these same examples.
Exactly - you must have aced "rocket science!"

Let's see if you understand this example.

Customer A buys 100 different items in my ebay store in the last six months.
"Customer" B buys one hot item from me in the last six months.

Customer A asks me if i would let him have a hot item for 5% off.
Customer B asks me if i would let him have a hot item for 5% off.

I would say yes to A and no to B. But you are saying to say "yes" to BOTH customers to get "more" business from the customer B's of the world, when they will only buy hot products that would sell anyway.

I'm jealous you guys even have a card shop to complain about. (some of you have 2 or more) You suck!!!!!!!!!

My card shops are two things:
1. a tiny little glass kiosk in an antique mall near me that the guy randomly stocks.
2. ebay/blowout/other online retailers.

Let me see if YOU understand this, the statement was customer A buys 4 (four) heritage boxes every year, and customer B buys 1 heritage box. Where do you get the figures of 100 (one hundred) different items? Hardly a fair comparison, don't you think????

How does that not add up? A regular, loyal customer, or one who spends a lot of money, should always get a better deal than a random guy who stops in once to buy a box.

You take care of your best customers, that simple.

Your profile says you live in Lorain so I'm sure you know all the best shops in Northeast Ohio. I promise you, none of those shops are charging their "regulars" what the sticker says. This is not uncommon at all.

Furthermore, there is a difference between pre-ordering and buying on live date. If I pre-order from my LCS 6 months in advance at the current market price (Heritage was around $850/case online when solicitation went out), then that's the price I get when I walk in next Wednesday. A customer who calls the night before release to reserve a case is probably going to pay $500 more than I did because they waited until Tuesday instead of calling earlier.

It's fairly straight forward and simple. Not sure why you would question the ethics of any LCS who operates this way.

Buy a membership for $20 and you get the discounted price on everything for a year.
What about a customer who approaches your LCS 6 months in advance and asks to order 10 cases of Heritage High Number? That customer is going to pay "club membership" price on release date even if the product is double in price by then? I highly doubt that. I would think a fair amount of negotiation is in fact done under the table depending on what that customer is spending and how far in advance they inquire.

As if the manner in which an individual decides to run his business is even a question of ethics at all.

Many won’t buy cases on eBay. They would rather spend the extra $175 to guarantee that they will actually receive a case and not just giving a short term loan. eBay will often be cheaper but could also be a huge headache for the buyer at the end of the day.

It certainly could be. I believe in business ethics. If an LCS was weighing boxes, searching packs, or laundering money I'd absolutely question or even advertise those ethics to warn others.

Giving your top customers a good deal, however, is not part of that conversation IMO.
