Funny, the '19 is actually my favorite one.
I bought this one raw and lucked out on the grade. Good luck in your search!

Today I learned the Angels don’t have much variety in their selection of throwback jerseys.
Great cards though. I love Heritage throwbacks.

It's clear this thread brought a ton more early attention to this auction. Same exact thing happened to another Trout SSP a few months ago. Price went bonkers early and the seller ended up pulling the auction. This is PWCC so this auction won't get pulled... But I'm guessing if it sits at $5900 for the next 5-6 days a couple bidders will get sweaty palms and retractions will begin.

I've followed Trout for a couple years and know the SSPs are very popular... Saying that... I wouldn't know the rarity of one compared to another. Guessing the BO board is the same lol. It has 11 bidders with 37 bids...if this is really that hard to get... I'm guessing the real people interested wouldn't bid this much... This early.

I could understand if it was a card with true market value.... You can easily bid up PSA 10 Updates to $3000 without fear of winning... Not the same with this card. Be careful.
You nailed it with the bid retractions. Top 3 bids pulled in the last 24 hours. Pwcc has a good bit of their own shill bidders but I would guess these were real people that got nervous.

I think a few people realized that dropping your bid right at the last 3 seconds is the best route to take when going after a big card like this for obvious reasons..

The total sale price will skyrocket right at the end.

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt.

The card has no true market and the initial surge was clearly not real. You can easily bid up an Update PSA 10 to $3000 knowing you won't win. You can't bid this up to $6000+ 2 days in and expect to lose. The real bidders that are interested are not bidding that much 2 days in.... unless they have no clue how the bidding process works.

It had 37 bids early... After the retractions it has 19... Half the bids have disappeared. half!!! *POOF* Now it looks like it's $5900, $5800, $1999.99 if I'm seeing things correctly. Gonna take a guess and say those 2 bids $4000 above the $2000 bid will be retracted as well. If they do that will be 5 total retractions.

PWCC is pretty strict when it comes to retractions. Question is... How do they handle them. Is this just one? Or if you bid 6 times does that count as 6? This isn't a random person listing this...it's PWCC and they are pretty close with eBay.

From PWCC rules :

Bid Retractions:

The overwhelming majority of bid retractions are in violation of eBay's stated policy. With few exceptions, all bid retractions on a PWCC auction are reported to eBay and result in an eBay-issued warning. A second retraction will result in that user ID being blocked from further participation in PWCC auction and eBay suspending bidding privileges for a period of time across the eBay platform. A third retraction will result in permanent suspension from eBay. Please spread the word.

If they count it as 6... Fun and games just got your eBay account suspended. Be careful what auctions get hyped.... It doesn't take much for people on this board to follow the unknown. FOMO is cruel... Everyone wants to be in the cool kids group.

Hopefully for those involved it's just a 1... But if you've retracted with them before... This one might hurt.

That might be true. If they 2 bids $4000 above the $2000 bid happen... the bid will be roughly $850. That's a $5700 drop from it's high of $6500

PWCC might use this auction as an example and count each bid as a retraction. That's a huge price adjustment. They don't like it when people "play" with their auctions. It's business for them. I don't know what they will do.... If you mess with the bull....you get the horns.

Good Luck to those involved. Maybe they don't do anything. Be careful in the future. FOMO can be cruel.

The ending price might be $7500... Still might not change things for the retractions.

From what I hear, PWCC is very aggressive at getting people banned who retract bids. Probably have the FBI watching over them. Trimming cards may be legal, but shill bidding isnt.

No Trout in the lineup again today, but in his words he's "looking forward to being in the lineup tomorrow"

That 2016 Topps Update SSSSSSP is still at $5900 strong with four days left.

There was actually a time I thought this card was a “myth” like Big Foot until I actually got one in my hand.. lol.

If those are legit... great. If one retracts... It's $2000... If both retract...it's $840. Going to guess if one retracts.... The one with a $4000 padded bid will retract as well.

Both could be legit.... That's a huge gap between bid amounts tho.

You mean you don't trust a picture where you can't see corners and the listing that says: No Returns! No Refunds! Sales are final!

The image just looked “off”. Thanks for confirmation. I can’t imagine there are many raw copies of this guy. I will note as a fraudulent listing.

For $850 I would be all over it. But it won’t- too many people looking for it.

The bid would be $1999.99 and it's known. if the other 2 retract bids.... the $1999.99 will be pushed to the egde. $2000 is well within reason.... it's the $5800 and $5900 that seems so out of place with 4 days to go lol.

PER SPORTSEDGE.COM: https://www.nbcsports.com/edge/baseb...340/mike-trout

Mike Trout (elbow) is back in the Angels' lineup Monday.

Trout missed the last three games with some numbness in his left arm following a hit by pitch on the elbow, but he's ready to roll now. The superstar is in center field and batting third versus the Rangers.
