Forgive me for my questions as this is my first time submitting orders through PSA. Just got a shipping notification on one of my orders. One of the cards in the order was a Michael Jordan 1991 Upper Deck baseball SP1. The card I sent out was in really good condition. I wouldn't say it was 10, but I expected it to come back with a grade 9 or 8.

When I looked into my orders, the certificate shows available. I looked and for this card is says grade "very good 3". Is this really the actual grade on the slab? If so, I am really am confused on the grade. Unless the card was damaged in transit, I can't imagine this pulling a grade 3. A grade 3 to me is the corners are rounded, creases, scratches, etc. Like the card had been played with by a little kid. The card I submitted was nowhere near this condition.

Yes, that's the grade on the card. Possible it was damaged in shipping/process, sure. Also possible there was a crease you didn't see, likely on the back. It happens to all of us. Unfortunately no way to really even guess until you get it back in hand.

Thanks. Once I get it I will post a picture. Kind of mind boggled right now.

Hi,
I can't see the picture clearly, but check the bottom left corner when you get the card back. For me, the color on that corner makes me think that it's slightly peeling. Hard to tell from a picture, just a guess. Let us know what it is when you get the card.

^ The jordan looks like the lower left corner is bent. Not dinged, but bent like a minor crease.

PSA-3 on an otherwise NM-MT card is usually a heavy crease. that's what I've seen on ultra-modern cards that are 'pack fresh'

PSA-4 also usually a crease. Maybe just less severe. Wrinkle on the back of the '19 Vlad Sapphire PSA-4 that I owned. 100% could not see it on the front.

PSA-5 small light wrinkle on the back. I had a NM-MT vintage card that I bought in a PSA-5 holder. Tiny wrinkle about an inch long on the back. Probably looked like an 8 to the person who submitted it.

I've seen 5s and 6s with severe edge damage, like a crimp mark or major dent. Or really rough cut.

You can get a really terrible grade on a card that looks pretty, pretty, pretty good, if it's just got one surface issue that's kinda hard to see.

Kind of funny - sent 2 orders in the same box that were received 1/20.

30 card Value Bulk - Grading
4 card Economy - Research

PSA just posted their January pulse tracker feedback survey and I've added it below. I know a lot of people have opinions, so now is your chance to submit them. A few things I mentioned were recent shipping delays after being charged, washed out bright scans and poor quality scans (big smudges and mystery white liquid substance on the back of the cases showing up on scans), and the change to FedEx (can't sign online for packages like USPS and shipments always are days later with FedEx).

I got shipping notification on my $15 submission that had grades pop a week and a half ago. Took long enough, but at least it's moving forward.

Regular, from Arrived to Grades in 12 calendar days. 8 business days? Regardless, right around the 10-day turnaround they're advertising.

My 10 card $15 bulk order marked received on 12/30 has shipped today (1/25). Shipping was the longest part of the whole process clocking in at 10 days.

Same here; I got my grades a week ago, and still no shipping notification. I bet their scanning each card is causing significant delays in shipping. Thankful I don't have to scan my cards anymore!

Same Grading Level:

Arrived 01/09/23 is now in QA1 VERY FAST

Arrived 11/09/22 is now in QA1 NORMAL

Arrived 09/22/22 is now in Assembly VERY SLOW

Quite interesting how they all vary that much.

Order Type: $50 Economy
# of cards: 2
Order delivered: 1/3/23
Order received per PSA: 1/4/23
Entered: 1/9/23
Research & ID: 1/9/23
Grading: 1/10/23
Assembly: 1/11/23
QA1: 1/11/23
QA2: 1/12/23
Grades: 1/20/23
Shipped:1/25/23

Finally received shipping for mine. Shipped via Fedex Express Saver and not expected until Monday. With their old system, I would've had it within 2 days via USPS Priority. Between the longer shipping times and lower grade shipping service, not thrilled with the shipping department changes.
