Bought another early (2019) sho/trout dual today and it got me thinking. Once Sho signs with another team do these A) Lose demand and go down, B) Have no change since they are a dynamic duo immortalized in the WBC, C) Have more room to grow since there will be no more active season dual autos, they are two all timers, and demand is finally thwarted.

I was in camp B) and just like picking up early sho autos (pre C-minus) but was curious what others thought.

If he’s gone, they literally accomplished nothing together. And Trout is clearly on a career and hobby downturn, the latter of which is going to be really hard to turn around.

You could very well be correct! But at the same time there are valuable dual autos of players that have never even seen the same field, so there's some subjectivity in how the two autos are associated. I guess a lot of it depends on Trout's health, or Ohtani performing so well that he pulls Trout's weight in valuation

For duals to really be desired, there needs to be an important link between the two. Trout and Ohtani will unfortunately just be a duo that spent six years rotting away together on the Angels.

Yeah was going to say this. While they obviously didn't accomplish much on their team they certainly did in terms of individual success. A WBC dual auto card would be epic.

Sold an Ohtani tonight. I have to ship it to ebay's authenticator center. It already has been there once before when I bought it and I just kept it the packaging. I took the scans with it in the package. I should just ship it to ebay in their own packaging right?(in a different shipping box obviously)

It shouldn't matter. They will reauthenticate it regardless.

That's generally solid packaging for protecting the card (assuming you use good outer packaging, anyway), so I say yes. But they're going to open up the sealed card saver when it gets there regardless.

My son is so funny: pretty much every day he finds some new local blogger saying why they think Ohtani is on his way to Boston. He’s got his hopes up, and I keep reminding him it’s a long shot.
