I submit for myself and others in my town. i'm not a group grader or anything. SGC submissions is easier imo than PSA; if you've done PSA, you can do SGC no problem

First post! Got a bunch of cards back from SGC last week, really happy with the grades. Can't beat a 3-week turnaround and $30 per card grading fee! Could never have sent these to PSA at the current $200 per card express fee. I will only be using SGC going forward!

SGC puts out under 4000 slabs a day which is barely a noticable dent in the PSA backlog. Would be a lose/lose for collectors I think.

Does anyone know if they upload pictures of the cards before sending them back? I just got the grades but don't have photos

They uploaded the photos for my last order the following day. Which was also a Saturday. Nice grades BTW.

They'll eventually show up on your My Profile page under the SellerReady Images link.

One question, can you request a min grade or no slab (10) when sending in or no?

I filled out the submission form but did not see the option.

Their slabs are very easy to crack. Might as well let them slab it.

So was this just bad info from the “insiders” or is something coming in the future?

If SGC ever consider clear case with the same label then I will be submitting all my items to them. As of now, not submitting anything to anyone.

Swung thru a local card show outside of Nashville today (approx. 65 tables). TONS of SGC graded cards that NOBODY was touching (full spectrum of BC Autos, 90s MJ inserts, Base Crap, etc). Prices were in line, it seemed, but nobody was even asking to look at them. There were also a lot of people trying to pawn off their PSA 8s & 9s. I saw most people buying raw higher end, on-card autos, jersey patch rookies, etc.

Isn't that happening pretty much across the board though? From what I read and hear, most people only looking for SGC for their PC or to crack and submit to PSA (at least for modern and ultra modern).

If you look at the difference in prices for modern/ultra modern, it doesn't really make sense to submit to SGC unless you're confident on getting a 10?

Just comparing the Luca base RC Prizm, most recent sales are SGC 10 Prizm is $435 vs. $750 PSA 10...

1st experience subbing was very positive!! $30/card service. 2 cards. 'Received' same day it was delivered 07/01. Grades populated and shipped 07/09. Amazingly quick turnaround time... The scans are a nice feature... The submission proccess is painless and they accept paypal. PSA subs are a bit more involved, Beckett sub process is terribly antiquated, HGA is easy, and I havent tried CSG.

The grading was on par with what I expected. I'm usually accurate when submitting to PSA and BGS. I got a 9 on a 2019 USTA Net Generation Coco Gauff and an 8 on the 2019 USTA Net Generation Sofia Kenin. I expected a 9 or 9.5 on the Gauff and a 7.5 or 8 on the Kenin.

Overall the submission was a great experience and I just paid for 4 card order to send in on Friday. Some of these cards are to be kept and some sold. $30 is stiff, but in today's environment a reasonable price for the quick service and nice slabs.

All just timing and who was there.
I personally think SGC has the best slabs, looks and cleanest design and are one if not the most accurate grader today.
I know myself and others i know prefer SGC over psa and anyone else with CSG as a close 2nd.

It‘s not all just timing - if it wasn‘t for PSA/BGS being flooded, would people still submit to SGC like they do now? Or is SGC more like an alternative due to the more popular choices being unavailable?

I agree and personally like the look of their slabs too, but value wise, it‘s pretty much not able to keep up with PSA is it?

Accuracy of grading I highly disagree had cards that I personally wouldn‘t rate a 9 cracked out of SGC 10 slabs, pretty sure that happens with all of the grading companies.

I agree with questions on the accuracy. They may be consistent but I’ve picked up too many SGC 9’s hoping they’d be as nice as a PSA 9. Now I’d only get an SGC 9.5 with the hopes of sending elsewhere for a 9. Even then I’d probably pass unless it was a card I really had to have.
