With it's current iteration, 8000+ collector score needed to have a realistic chance of getting anything worth owning, they're definitely catering to and appeasing the whales on the platform, along with dismissing new and lower end users.

Yeah super lame. I unsubscribed from all emails from them. Really a shame.

I'm keeping what I have, everything has taken a crazy hit since I bought. Maybe they'll add a cool new feature or go a different direction eventually.

For now I'm just not interested.

Pokemon go picked up again the following summer though. Give it until the winter before declaring TS dead?

I don't know if their strategy of pissing off 50% of their users to appeal to 1-2% of their users is going to pay off in the long run.

I think they thought their strategy of using collector score to get people more engaged (and buy more from the marketplace) has backfired and has caused more people to give up than it has caused people to buy more.

In my case, originally was disappointed when they introduced collector score and sold off most of my moments. I then completed a few team sets (Timberwolves and Hornets) and got my collector score over 2000. It will be a never-ending chase as they keep increasing the collector score required to get any good packs.

I'm not going to sell off what I have since I have already gotten all my money out that I've put in but I'm definitely not buying any more except for packs I get access to.

Agree entirely with this post; collector score is nothing but a headache that the majority of people don't understand

CS really has no affect on me because I'm not going to pay $1k for a pack unless it was a one off treat to myself.

If you want to bust $1k packs you should build your score.

It's the same reason I don't get to bust Flawless or Immac boxes are ANY Panini Hobby boxes, ha ha.

But it doesn't mean I can't collect what I like.

And I'll be holding my Luka Game Winner long term.

It's ok, you can slowly flip cards in order to one day purchase a $1000 pack. Just not with TopShot.

Eh, wouldn't declare if fully dead since we have no clue what NFTs actually are right now.

Maybe NFTs get integration elsewhere or TopShot decides to make a game or something eventually. Who knows

The thing though, are these really NFTs? I can't buy or sell off their site, how do I even access them off the platform? That's what bugs me, people sinking serious money into these but them being tied to a proprietary platform. This doesn't feel any different than the trading card apps we have. They can use fancy terms like blockchain and crypto, but does it mean anything if it's no different than Panini Dunk?

I spent about 2k, have 166 moments and opened about 18 packs.

My best pull is Haliburton /499

My biggest loss was Tatum All Star paid 500$ its worth 1/5 of that.

I am still in, but noticed they cater to influencers, it's pretty sad.

Yup, only one thing i disagree with you on. TS pissed of 98% of the user base, not 50%. LOL

Oh yeah, definitely a concern I had with TopShot. They aren't prioritizing withdrawals to a wallet at all and aren't very transparent about it.

The Flow dev team seems good and I messed around developing on their Blockchain. It's cool and I can see a market for alternatives chains just for NFTs/other stuff since Ethereum is expensive as hell and can be clunky.

That being said I agree with your point that this is owned by a company who has already made some decisions I consider to be questionable at best.
