Still have questions about his long term hobby demand but he’s a real definition of a 1/1. Just extraordinary. |

There are 24 players on the All Star Team.
You're telling me the DPOY by a mile who's also averaging 24/10, ranked 10th in PER, leading his team to double the number of wins as the year before, is worse than every singler other player on that All Star Team? WHICH HE'S ALSO ON? You'd rather have Evan Mobley on your hometown team? Tyler Herro? James Harden? Jaren Jackson Jr.? Jalen Williams? Or are you one of those people who still count Zion as a top 10 player "when he's healthy?" Can you name 24 players better than Wembanya? Can you even name 24 NBA players? Complete, utter clown response, or a troll who knows absolutely nothing about actual basketball/watches no games. Everybody every year want's a damn unicorn, hobby savior level real life anime character level of a player. We finally get one and all people want to do is believe he'll either get injured or wishes he would play like a center from 1965. ![]() Last edited by StevieScheffler; 02-01-2025 at 11:17 PM. |

And what even is your point, that you think it's stupid to think that Wemby isn't BETTER than top 20 or WORSE than top 20? My personal criteria for ranking players is what would hapen if I drop them on a generic team, not better basketball player 1:1 or better stats. I care about winning, only. If your point is better basketball player, then yeah I believe Wemby is top 10 although top 5 is a stretch. But as a big of a Wemby fan as I am-- Debating people in Oct 2023 on Wemby's RC season and correctly predicting the outcome: https://www.blowoutforums.com/showth...7#post19124617 Debating people in Aug 2024 on Wemby's second season and so far, again correctly predicting the outcome: https://www.blowoutforums.com/showth...3#post19662983 --I think putting players like Brunson on a generic team would lead to more winning than Wemby RIGHT NOW because as skilled as Wemby is, his lack of experience, leadershsip maturity, and offensive game means he can't win very many games by himself/only with his defense. It's fair to critique him on the fact that the Spurs are only a 0.500 team and it's his second year. He's not good enough to carry a team/franchise on his back, yet. That's why he's top 20 at best for me on winning. It feels weird to me to say somebody is a top 5 or 10 player in the league and his team might miss the play-in. Look at that--you chime in with insults and I chime in with sound arguments backed by logic. I could still be wrong, but at least I explain myself and can be objective about a player while I'm high on the player and apparently meth. Last edited by StevieScheffler; 02-02-2025 at 02:08 PM. |

I finally got the chance to see Wemby in person the night before last. He didn't have the greatest game, but he is amazing to watch in person. Someone that tall that moves like he does is just a marvel to watch. Trae and the Hawks put up a good fight, but it was a good game regardless. Took this photo of the game winner.

I don't think the Spurs expect to vie for a championship this year, so they're letting Wemby figure out what kind of player he wants to be on the court. Meaning, they probably aren't ecstatic that he's shooting so many threes, at a terrible clip, but they expect him to either work on getting better, or modify his game to be more efficient.

The funniest part of this is that the guys complaining about 3s don't watch him play and have no concept of spacing and how much better he makes their offense by being out on the perimeter.
2 most used Wemby lineups w/ no Sochan are 124 and 125 offensive rating. I think the Spurs are perfectly happy to let the guy shoot. Spurs have a +6.2% eFG% on/off on offense lol but yea let's have him bang with dudes 3x his weight in the paint so he gets hurt. Great idea!

Interesting enough the guys no one wants to challenge on their attempts/percentages are either slightly above him or below him statistically. These are all stars and MVP candidates. Vic is not a true center so a lot of his offense reflects that. He shoots them because he can AND there is still some voids in the lineup. |
