Beware of this seller. Card ended below what he wanted (still $11K) and he left the shipping option blank so I can't check out. Asked him multiple times to send me the invoice with a shipping option and he sent this classic excuse which I classically proved him a liar on.

I love hitting sellers back w/ the "I'll still take it". Most never even respond and just cancel the sale. They could say that they dropped the card in a shredder. Im saying, send pics...Ill still take it. Dang clowns.

Yep, as soon as I cracked it I saw a surface scratch and knew I was in trouble.

I have gotten some cards for a great price but also losing out on others still. My sales have slowed down volume wise but not so much price wise.

Feels like a good consolidation phase

The MVP and everything else was already priced in. He had nowhere to go but down and the injury accelerated that process. The offseason is where the real buying opportunities will happen.

We all already know this seller is a liar, but two things:

1) I'm assuming this card would've qualified for the Authenticity Guarantee, so the seller would've been covered if it was truly was cracked, shipped out, made it through Authentication, and to you and you wanted to return (as long as the seller doesn't have 30 days returns enabled).

2) Don't ever threaten a negative in eBay messages. Even if you're super right, the seller would be able to have that negative removed and you (potentially) would get a strike against your account (or worse) for "feedback extortion."

Unfortunate situation with a bad seller.

I think I figured out why the Angels don't simply put Ohtani on the IL and call it a season. They literally have no one worth calling up because they strip mined their farm making those foolish trade deadline deals, so calling anyone up from the minors would actually make the team worse. So they play the day to day game with Ohtani trying to juice ticket sales for a couple more weeks dangling the chance he might play to fans. LOL

I did not extort anything. It's not like I said give me a discount for the cracked case or I'll leave a negative. I was asking for nothing that would actually benefit me. Simply mentioning a conditional negative is not extortion and not against any rule.

I understand the surface scratch causing the surface grade to go down. But how do the corners and edges grades get downgraded as well. Very inconsistent or maybe shadiness going on with the first grade (maybe a certain person with a connection at BGS submitted the first time, you never know) either way it sucks.

Chasing the dollars instead of enjoying the card will result in many more situations like that. This is why crossovers are not smart. It is hard to see things through a plastic case. I have some cards that are bgs true gem plus that there is no way I am cracking and sending to PSA for a possible price bump. First of all, BGS slabs are better and professional looking and secondly, money should not be the first thing we think about. It use to not be the case, but we know what changed all of that. Ohtani is amazing and I sincerely hope he moves this off-season!
