Shohei Ohtani is now a 2-time member of the 40 homer, 20 stolen bases, 150 strikeouts club! 10 years ago this was not something that was supposed to be accomplished. Now we've seen it twice. Amazing feat that shouldn't be taken for granted.

I'll take the small moral victory after watching the Angels get swept by the freaking A's. There's ZERO chance he resigns with this dumpster fire of an organization...right??

Getting really hard to watch angel games. Want Ohtani to hit 50, but I prefer him to focus on the next chapter of his career as a priority, wherever it may be.

If he cared about that would he have signed there in the first place?

I mean the roster was not terrible when he signed on to the Angels.

Because the entire NL was off limits at the time? Because they promised him the moon and he believed them? Because his priorities have changed 6 years later? Etc etc.

Agree.

Would rather he shut it down, have the new TJ surgery and start rehabbing now.

If Ohtani resigns with the Angels then it's clear he has no intention of winning.

Was every team at the time on board with him being a full time 2 way player?

Absolutely not. My memory is that the Angels were the team that was all in on the 2 way play, while the other teams in contention for him were more wishy washy about it.

https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/s...lbow-ligament/

Monday evening Ohtani's agent, Nez Balelo, said it is "inevitable" the two-way star will have "some kind of procedure" on his elbow, according to the Los Angeles Times. Balelo added the injury is the "best case scenario" because the original Tommy John surgery repair is intact, and the tear is in a different location.

"Shohei is going to be in somebody's lineup next year, DH-ing when the bell rings," Balelo told the Los Angeles Times and Associated Press. "... Shohei loves to pitch. There's not a question in his mind that he's going to come back and continue to do both."

I wonder if this is the end of 2023. Was a good run. Nothing else to prove.

Right oblique tightness.

He owes the Angels nothing and has the MVP locked up. I would shut it down as well. Will miss the Sho, for now, but it will go on .

Ouch! He should definitely shut it down for the year. He is definitely the AL MVP (Back 2 Back).. just get healthy for next season. God bless him for his incredible season that pulled a lot of non-baseball fans of all ages to watch baseball.

Ive been posting it for weeks, even before the arm injury...SHUT IT DOWN! Save him from himself. Someone step in. I don't want to hear the "...but he needs to compete".

He has proven himself. Shut him down.

End the misery Arte Moreno. No more Ohtani for 2023 and let him go elsewhere for the ring, and take Trout with him. Sad day for Angels fans

That is the best outcome possible.

If anybody has any ticket stubs of his last game pitched at Angels stadium, ill take it. He ain't coming back to Anaheim.
