If I can't get what I consider a fair deal I'll walk. I'm thinking if ebay sales are about $7500 I think I should be able to get about $7000 from a dealer. The dealer stands to make a pretty easy $500 for not putting in a whole lot of effort and very low risk. Maybe I'm dreaming but I'll see how it goes on Saturday.
I really doubt a dealer would pay 7K for this card.

It's not like they're gonna turn around and sell it instantly for $7500. People at shows don't want to pay eBay prices. You may find an individual who will pay 7K for it, but I highly doubt a dealer would with its current price.

Wow. Is there really that much value difference between Min Gem BGS and a PSA 9? That feels like a huge difference, but maybe I need to quick send my PSA 9 to BGS to try for a cross!

Might be worth a shot. I sent in a gold to PSA and it came back a 9... thought it had an outside shot at a 10. Cracked it out, and sent it to BGS and it got a min 9.5... which I thought it had a good shot at. Really just depends on the card.

I'm thinking about moving my 2011 Update Diamond PSA 9, but I have never sold a card that big on eBay before. Are CC/Paypal returns a real concern? Or is it something that happens when selling to low feedback buyers? I don't like the idea of someone borrowing my Trout baby for a risk-free 6-month investment...

It seems like the US175 has settled at around $7,500ish.

Now all the other parallels and non-update 2011 cards are adjusting themselves upward.

Rovell usually knows what he's talking about. That sale will be HUGE.

I've never had it happen before, but there is risk... albeit small.

Maybe you should consign through Jewcer or Probstein or PWCC.

Man, when they were at $4,500 I said they’d be $5,000 by opening day. They were at $8,000 the next day.

They seem to have calmed down for a minute but they’ll pop again once spring training starts. Another $2k bump by April 1st sounds crazy but who knows?

+1

myslabs had 4 up last night that were 7k or less. right now...

$6500
$6699
$6800

$7250
$7450
$7500
$8000

Drop $6500 flat right now and flip it for $7k cash at the show.

I still say $5500. Might not even get any offers that high. That gives $500 profit, potential for more. But the card isn't rare and there are plenty of people holding one of these for well under $1k buy-in that are throwing it up on ebay for a few dollars cheaper than the lowest one. So I'm not surprised they're coming out in big numbers, so the price is going to hover and even drop back a bit.

Looks like 4 were bought BIN, and 2 of those are relisted. Be skeptical of rapid price increases.

Good luck Trout sellers! I'm holding onto mine.

Do you folks think that this recent surge in prices will also apply to Trout's Bowman Chrome RC Autos? I assume yes, given that this appears to be a hobby-wide spike on higher-value cards, but it's hard to tell given the more limited supply.

Finest Refractor Jersey # 27/549 listed at $20k BIN. Card used to be a BGS 9 a year or so ago, but now is raw with some bad scratching on the front. My guess is the seller or previous owner damaged it trying to crack it out. What a shame.

I'm holding my higher end Trout's (anything over $1000 at the moment). I don't need the money right now, and I expect another consistent monster season. Plus I need the US175 for my Flagship RC collection. If you are selling, I hope you get some major profits off of your Trout cards.

The four most recent sales from yesterday are all at right about $7,000.

Either it's dropping back down a bit or people are undercutting each other to get that sweet fish cash.

I almost sold my BC ref PSA 10 when they were at 8k recently. I could not seal a deal but a few days after that one sold for 14k and another for 20k.

I really need the money but given how crazy those 2 sales went, I am willing to suffer in silence with my bills for a bit longer to see where the new norm ends up being.

My only US175 PSA 10 will be with me for a while. I rather sell the high end and get myself out of debt than part with the US 175 PSA 10.
