Hear me out - 17 eight-team conferences. Play everyone in your conference. Each conference winner gets promoted the following year, loser gets relegated. Seed all 136 after conference games and start playoffs. I think would it would be a max 13 game season (would need some byes in the first round to make the numbers work)

The biggest problem with that is from what I understand, college sports include more than just football. I've never seen any of these other sports but I have heard tale of college teams playing basketball against each other.

So how could you relegate a team like Purdue who stinks at football but, theoretically, could be among the best at basketball?

Yeah that seems way fairer. Everyone gets the same trophy at the end too.

If you’re lucky, maybe the game will be officiated by the Georgia refs who wouldn’t let the Bulldogs lose to Auburn.

Not this again.

Ny times: The game had a higher-than-usual number of questionable calls. The SEC's usual after-action review found nine plays that could have been ruled differently, per sources familiar with the process; five ruled in Georgia's favor, four for Auburn.

The refs took away a UGA TD on AUs goal line fumble return. The no PI call on Noah Thomas go route ball, another 7. The BS blind side block blown call would’ve made it first and goal from the 1. Pretty sure we score a TD instead we miss FG. That’s 21 points. AU didn’t have to close to that taken away. Just because UGA had “5” missed calls doesn’t mean those outweigh AUs 4. Nice try though.

Announcer: “Hand off to the Georgia running back…. And he scoots out of bounds at the six yard line…. No wait the referee is signaling touchdown folks!! And we’re hearing the SEC doesn’t have the correct camera angle to challenge the call so the touchdown stands….”

Of course, the above wouldn’t be any worse than how badly Auburn got hosed….

You guys can go back and forth but most just assume both of your teams gets calls other schools don’t get.

The Auburn QB was clearly in the endzone before the hit that knocked the ball out.

Even the people in Atlanta know it.

The SEC has suspended veteran referee Ken Williamson for the rest of the season following his crew's performance during Georgia's 20-10 win over Auburn on Oct. 11, CBS Sports confirmed.

Williamson served as crew chief during the game, which featured several controversial calls — including a disputed fumble ruling at the goal line late in the first half that shifted the game's momentum. The SEC declined to comment on personnel matters, but CBS Sports' John Talty reported that Williamson did not officiate last week and will not work another league game this season.

In the second quarter, Auburn quarterback Jackson Arnold appeared to cross the goal line for a touchdown before losing the ball, but officials ruled it a fumble. The call stood after review, despite replays appearing to show Arnold breaking the plane with possession. The ruling erased a potential 17-0 Auburn lead and became a turning point in the game.

Georgia had more calls go in their favor including the biggest one that took a TD away from Auburn that would have given them a 17 point lead. The crew chief was banned from officiating any more SEC games because of that call.

Think it was more than one call. I mean Kirby called timeout. We all saw it

Kirby did nothing wrong. He called a TO and the ref failed to grant it. Kirby also screamed “they’re clapping!!” trying to make UGA false start…another missed penalty on Auburn that night

Watch frame by frame of the AU QB while he attempts to cross the goal line WITH possession. He never does. Thats what the side judge saw. The first contact occurred before he crossed and then he lost possession. One can clearly see the ball moving. The second contact is the ball popping out. UGA was the team screwed out of a TD on that play. If there hadn’t been a whistle, it would have been.

If the call would have been AU TD, it would have stood imo.

lol @ Georgia fans still trying to justify Auburn getting robbed and avoiding the fact they are scared of losing to Alabama yet again.

Auburn didn’t sniff the end zone on the second half. That was proven in the final score.

UGA and bama are getting in no matter what happens on Saturday

Bama totally owns Georgia, but they didn't score in the second half in the first meeting and Ryan Williams has been a non-factor recently. I like Georgia's chances in this one.

The playoffs start tonight!!! There’s really only one game this weekend which is a win-and-advance, lose-and-go-home situation for BOTH teams, and that’s tonight’s American CCG between the Green Wave of Tulane and the Mean Green of North Texas. It’s not easy being green…

James Madison certainly needs a win to keep their slim hopes alive. A win tonight makes them the biggest Duke fans in the country. If they should falter, my guess is UNLV would be the next man up, but they have a tough one against the Broncos of Boise State.

It’s Alabama versus Georgia tonight!! No not the SEC, I’m talking Kennesaw State versus Jacksonville State for the CUSA title.

No team from tonight should be allowed in the playoffs. Can we just have a 2nd tourney like the NIT for these type of schools?

I honestly think the G5 should have their own Natty. They are a lower division in all but name.

They just need to take the best 40 programs and put them all in the Big18 and SEC. Everyone else can play with JMU and North Dakota State. CUSA is not needed

Why is Notre Dame ranked higher than Miami? Is it because they won their conference Championship?

Snow ball fight at JMU. Boring game (7 punts) but you know JMU is about to turn it on and crush them.
