As an FYI, as an experiment I weighed my 12 boxes. I broke them down into three tiers and you can see results below. Unfortunately I didn't write the actual weights down.

Overall 7 of the 12 boxes had a "hit" with one box containing two hits (actually same pack):
Two Autos: one base, one orange
Non-Autos: two purples, one orange, one gold, one green, one green insert

Top Tier:
Three of these four boxes had a hit, with one of them having two color refractors (though interestingly enough that box wasn't the heaviest). One dud box. My big hit auto (Wander) was in this group.

Middle Tier:
Hit an orange auto (Julio Pablo) plus a gold refractor non-auto in the four boxes weighing in the middle in the pack. One of these was a dud box.

Bottom Tier:
Of these four boxes, three were duds (no autos or color) although one box did have a hit in it (this was the box ranked 11 of 12 in weight).

Conclusion: Weighing helps to indicate what's inside, but it's not fool proof. The heaviest ones are highly likely to have a "hit" inside, while the lighter ones probably don't have a hit (but still could have). For the "average" weighted boxes, it's a toss up. I'd still be weary of buying on eBay unless it's a respected seller or you're buying in lots of 12 or so.

There are also variations that weigh the same as base with the Wander variation goes for a lot more than most autos do

My online orders are going to start trickling in tomorrow, for my wallets sake I hope they’re loaded with goodies

I thought that the non-auto variations are the same thickness (and weight) as the color non-auto refractors. Haven't pulled one so correct me if I'm wrong. Those are pretty rare though.

We did not get a restock; confirmed there was nothing in this week’s shipment. Good luck all

last year they were in the same card stock as the NON hits so i assume its the same this year. will wait for someone who has pulled one this year to confirm.

The image variations are the same card stock as the base. The first time through I didn't notice the Eloy variation I pulled.

Have now visited 4 targets in the houston area - found none and only one of them had an empty space where they could have been.

I'm assuming that not every store gets these

Or that the Excell employee in charge of inventory in your area is purchasing them beforehand. To my understanding, these are already in the system once they are delivered. The Excell employee just has to make sure they are put out on the sales floor. Target nor Topps really doesnt care how they are distributed as long as their bottom line is met. Even better if the Excell employee gobbles them all up because atleast they arent getting stolen.

There was a post earlier about a retired guy in Houston that was following the Excel reps around town and grabbing all the Megas before they got on the shelf. May be the reason you're not seeing them.

In the STL area, the following stores have been hit/depleted already:

Ellisville, Clayton Rd, Kirkwood, Fenton, Chesterfield Valley

None sighted yet at the downtown store by Ted Drewes. Have not went across the river to St. Charles/O'Fallon or the one on Rock Road yet either.

Hands down my best Target experience ever. Get to card aisle and employee approached asking if I was looking for something. I said yes, Bowman mega. She said I know where they are! Said she was holding two for someone that called but said I think there’s two more. Great, I’ll take em, turns out to be four. Lady made my day!

If 1 million MEGA boxes were made, it still wouldn't be enough to support the madness of consumers.

Ya with more people buying these this year I feel like there’s a good chance they’ll be completely sold out in a couple weeks

By my estimation, still less than 20% has been released.

I use the scale and I opened the box that is the heaviest. I dunno if that means anything cuz I only got 1 thick card. I cant tell if the scale means something or I am doing it wrong.

Is that good? Danny Jansen (rookie of the year favorite 11/25)

150,000 boxes made

1,000 targets, roughly 12 boxes per (this is much more reasonable than 24 considering how many have received 12 or less, and how many have received none at all)

Four online waves, assume 3,000 boxes per wave (this is a ceiling estimate)

24,000 out of 150,000 boxes = 16%

I think I'd rather have the Franco base than that Jansen insert
