We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic man.

Man, I am so torn on Yordan right now. His prices have finally gotten to a point where you will make an absolute killing if he comes back even 90%. But they are also still really high if he ends up Oden-ing it and can't ever put a full season together. Decent gamble now and will probably turn into a really great gamble in a few months. And there are some absolute monster cards available right now.

These factory set parallels look really nice in hand.

Who knows what their long term value will be, but these will always be cards that looks great!

Don’t think about it...just buy! He may never be a full blown hobby superstar but he doesn’t have to be. A 40/100/.300 guy will always command interest irregardless of whether he plays in the field or not. I’m a buyer for sure

Covid has ended my speculating, but I got a wee little stash in the SDB

Picked up a graded PSA 10 Topps 582 Monty sticker today just for giggles.

Going to enjoy collecting for once, sit back, and enjoy the ride.

Graded #276 is next on the list.

I counted 13 #276 variations... Does that sound right?

Yordan is either going to bust into an injury wreck or be better than trout next season
Let's hope the latter
The guy had arguably the best half season of all time as a rookie but the knee is a concern

Not being a DH he isn't...but he will probably have more home runs and a higher batting average.

Body types are too different. Pedroia was a monster all over the field on both sides. That's why he got injured so much. Yordan just has to worry about those knees.

Same knee problems, though, right?

Yordan still has to break his foot, tear his UCL, break a finger and have chronic knee/joint pain for 5 years to achieve that status

Haha! Sounds painful

Although I think Yordan has been dealing w/the knee issues for like 3 of those 5 year benchmark at this point?

From what I understand Yordan had tendon issues while Pedroia was cartilage and joint degradation.
Very different things. Pedroia has his ankle shattered in HS as a QB. He later fouled a ball off his left foot in 2010, and later had surgery on that foot.
A few years after, he dealt with hamstring injuries in his right leg and later had the knee problems pop up in the left leg that has been source of his IL stints for years now. I believe because of the ankle/foot injuries his swing may have been altered and adjusted his running etc, and that eventually led to his left knee/joint damage. There is precedent in history with pitchers especially altering mechanics due to leg injuries and results in arm injuries.
Yordan has both knees repaired at the patella tendon sites, and should be ok. It seems it was a good decision given he wouldn’t be able to favor one leg over the other while recovery, now he can GM rehab both legs equally. Hope it works out ok but we never know. Such a big swing, from a big man.

I need to read up on it, but my understanding is Pedroia is crippled by lost meniscus/cartilage, and the significant issue for Yordan is also torn meniscus/cartilage that they are trying to repair.

BTW my understanding is many players, especially infielders, end up with this issue in their hips, too. Created by bone spurs that they get from all their activity that builds up for their life. Those bone spurs wear away the cartilage and cause bone on bone action. So issues are certainly not isolated to these guys.

Hey guys, got some nice Yordans in recently so thought i'd show you what I've got

Both sapphires (that orange is beautiful in person)

I own 6 of the HHN Red Inks and a buddy owns 3 and they're all in pretty rough condition. I'm assuming he didn't really put much care into the handling when he signed
