I had a max bid of $6.5k on the clear - I surely thought it was going to go for $20k - Of course with the injury news and all I'm not sure it was a "steal" - but long term seems like a solid buy.

If i saw that clear, I would have easily bid five figures. People need to do a better job with visibility.

I'm not sure it was a bad time. Obviously the scratched start was a warning sign. So people may have stayed back because it was possible something else was going on.

It ended on a day he was hitting and pitching. Feel kind of bad for the seller, but that is the risk you play with when you do an auction.

The evidence says he's a much worse hitter when just DH'ing and if he keeps getting UCL injuries, he can still hit. So why do you want him to only DH?

Of course I'd love for him to keep up the 2-way play until he retires.

When I said DH only I really meant no more pitching, I forgot he could take up a position in the field. So yeah not strictly DH but would love to see him still playing at 40 years old even if he wasn't pitching anymore.

Watching Shohei play baseball brings me much joy, more than the value of his cards do. I'm more sad that I won't get to enjoy his 2-way performance for another year or so. Could care less if my Ohtani PC is worth less $$ in the time being, wouldn't mind adding some more nice pieces though

No. I got outbid by $100. Betting the person that won max bid was at least $7,500 - I was landing from a flight when it ended unfortunately and forgot about it.

I have to say it again, YES and YES. Im purely asking the question. Does he hit 400, 500 homers? How many hits, etc? Its a valid question if we're talking inner circle, walk into the HOF.

I don't care about Bo Jackson and Im not talking about collectability. Collect whatever your heart desires. I know I do. Im purely talking baseball stats (plus a little investing future for that crowd). I agree, he has done things that none of us could even fathom and I hope he continues to do so. I've thoroughly enjoyed this past 3 years of him playing.

4 more years of this pace (elite hitting and great pitching)...he's inner circle. Anything less is still a great HOF'er. Complete collapse after this arm issue...questionable.

MLB is going to have to make another Ohtani rule which allows a position player to be removed from the game, retain his position in the lineup as a DH, and then re-enter the game as a pitcher.
