Just scored all this from an estate sale this morning for $200 cash money. Talked them down from $365.

Games are CIB with manuals and are working.

Next stop eBay!

Michigan's longest garage sale is officially over. Did two days and was happy with the return.

My best pickup was a Sleepy Hollow Chair which can sell toward upward of 2-3k. The one I bought came with the footstool and is in overall good condition and would probably fetch around 1k, but I am keeping it to go with the one my wife bought me for Christmas last year. Paid $40. I was shocked.

The rest was just some gaming stuff, 2 N64's and Zelda's Majora's Mask and one controller ( all probably not working) for $25, a Nintendo Switch with 3 JoyCon's and accessories along with a 3DS (all work) for $60.

And then some filler stuff. Was able to score a ton of single stitch Notre Dame Football t-shirts and complete seasons of Sopranos on Blu Ray and DVD and some lower items as well.

Overall, a successful two day outing.

Overall a good haul.

Are PS3 games valuable in general? I just looked up the Spidey games, wow!

PS3 and XBox 360 games are getting more valuable. Not the common run of the mill stuff but the more uncommon games are for sure.

Are people seeing an uptick and non-payments after winning an item at auction? Just started running auctions a lot more, have done so the past three weeks, and the same 3-4 items (supreme sweatshirts) seem to constantly get non-payments, some buyers have 0 feedback, some have some feedback. It's always the same 3 articles of clothing. It's happened about 3 times on each item so far, now it's happening again. I've also had non-payments on other items as well that I ran for auction.

Do you have all your block in place. With auctions some categories are really bad about non-payers or cancellations right after ending. I have not personally filed a non paying strike since January and just got my first return this year(am likely going to get scammed on this one)

There are also some items me and a friend call the cursed ones. Worst one I have had was non payed 3 times then returned then non paid again. He has had one he has had listed for over 2 years it has "sold" via fixed price, paid for then immediate cancellation request 8 or 9 times now. Its kind of become a running joke with us.

I just discovered this myself recently, picking up 360 games like GH Warriors of Rock, Alice Madness Returns and Lollipop Chainsaw for $3 each. Before I got heavy back into sports cards I used to flip games from yard sales on the regular. Only returning to yard sale hunting recently, I forgot how EASY it is to sell games on eBay. They sell like hotcakes.

Is a non-paying strike different from canceling because of non-payment or is the cancelling for the non-payment do the same thing.

Cancellation is when wage eiter ask to cancel or do a cancelation request through ebay. If tgey do it through eBay and have not paid you cannot later give them a strike

Its usually a buck or two but my last one a few days ago was also around $7.
I'm not sure what's going on. I always add a little on to the actual measurements and weight of packages to be absolutely certain. I had never once got a cost adjustment until about a month ago and now I'm getting one of two a week.

I got one yesterday for $12 on a small package that was less than $10 to ship. WTF??

Do we know if the adjustment is a product of the carrier charging for what a buyers preferred option is? I clearly state in all my listings that the item will be shipped via the most economical means possible. There are times when a buyer's preferred method is USPS Priority. Can this be where the upcharge is coming from?

This really pisses me off...

I've talked to all sorts of people about the issue and got no where. No one can actually give me a concrete answer. There is either some sort of secret surcharge that Fed Ex isn't telling people about or they are skimming some off the top from customers (which is a bit tin foil hattish but you never know). I have called Fed Ex and talked with reps there, talked to delivery guys and their bosses and no answers.

I am curious if this has ever happened to someone who has their own Fed Ex account and ships their ebay sales using their own account. Unless you have your own Fed Ex account the Fed Ex customer service won't even bother trying to help you.

I went years without ever getting a single one then around last December something changed and they started rolling in. I'm probably up to 40 or so they have never been refunded The only time I've gotten ebay to refund me is when it happens in mass to many people. Other than that they just lie about giving credits and never do. Months ago every package I shipped for a few days got hit, as did hundreds of other people. Those were refunded (mostly).

One thing I did just do is when you use ebay's shipping calculator for exact cost and enter the proper weight and dimensions sometimes the cost is $10-$15 if not more then they charged the buter. If you contact their facebook support they will refund you the difference promptly. Wish I knew because I've lost $100 if not more than that this year for that alone.

Yeah, for sure! The only problem is, everyone knows it. I can't count how many times I've been at a yard sale and someone rolls up and yells from the sidewalk "Got any video games?" and when the seller says no they head to the next sale. Everyone and their brother are flipping games it seems. That's why you have to find the niche stuff that no one is looking for but also sells well.

Indeed. I’ve noticed the increased competition, too. I missed a sick one on Facebook marketplace the other day. A guy posted hundreds of floppy disks (both 3 and 5.25 — or whatever the dimensions were) from his old collection he was getting rid of. You couldn’t see much, but I could make out Doom and Dune II. Asking price? $50. That was probably a gold mine. Guy never messaged me back. He probably sold it instantly.

I am noticing less competition at sales. Most of the resellers out here are the ones who were out pre 2020. Tge ones who jumped in then have mostly given up.

The Gary V effect has worn off? Probably after realizing its hard to resell solely in a couple of popular niche's (video games, sports cards, vinyl) they just quit.

I am curious some of the longer term affects, did Goodwill, in any way shape or form, raise prices to capture increased shoppers (resellers?), and is that going to impact them down the road?

Resellers likely helped goodwill increase pricing but I would wager their greed plus increased overhead was the biggest cause. People want to fully blame resellers but the issue that kind of shuts that down is how much clothing and other donations goodwill gets that goes straight to the bins or trash.

In the past two weeks I've gotten non-stop e-mails from my Goodwill's around here with the subject line being "We've LOWERED Our Prices!!"

Then they go on and talk about how money is tight and they recognize that and to come see their revamped pricing.

These are the same Goodwill's in Northern Indiana that specifically received a 10 million dollar donation from Mackenzie Scott Bezos and then increased their prices afterward.

Needless to say, I haven't stepped foot in a Goodwill in over a year and would be really hard up on inventory come winter time to do so.

Wondering if that's why the goodwill 50% off coupons are now like every other week. Used to be like once every 4-6 weeks, but now it's like every two weeks like clockwork. That's the only time I go, get something for $20 that maybe sells for $80-$100, really cuts the cost down. Only time I really buy from them.

I use to go on 50% off day which was once a month around here, but the lines would wind around the inside of the store and if it wasn't something of substantial profit or I didn't have a cartload of items, I'd just put it back on the rack and walk out.

I would rather go to bins than 50% off day

Sold the vintage Barbie Dream House for $160 I got for free at a garage sale. I should have pieced it out, but since it was free I was hoping to get rid of it all at once.

Shipped to Texas for $70. Lady messages me today for a return calling me a scam artist, deceitful and a liar amongst other things because she only got part of her house.

I kindly messaged her and told her since the item was so large I had shipped it out in three separate packages and if she would just check her tracking numbers, which I already provided, she would see the other two boxes should arrive today as well.

She didn't even apologize for her behavior, but she did close out the return for one section of the house.

I wonder if she can still open a return on the other shipments if she is unhappy with the rest of her purchase.

She shouldn't be able to reopen a return request once she closed the first one but you never know with ebay. You should technically be good.

She could go to her cc company and tie up your money possibly for 2 months but ultimately you should be covered. She cannot open a new return though

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, didn’t really see anywhere else. Went to a parking lot “Flea Market” today and found this in the FREE pile at someone’s table. Don’t really know much about Nintendo or video game sales, but saw some of the same shirts with crazy BIN/BO but no sales. Anyone know of this actually selling?
Thanks
