That was me. You conveniently left out the fact that Tim & Jeremy opened that can of worms, by stating that Amazon is the only company "on the planet" with a more-complicated inventory (i.e. more SKU's) than COMC.

I'll give you that this is true, if you'll give me that a good part of this problem was self-created. They've taken in (and charged processing fees on) probably hundreds of thousands of cards that any bonobo could have told you were NEVER GOING TO SELL.

What does this mean?

Are you saying they are refusing to ship out any orders unless you are willing to pay for the rushed option?

It sounds like they are going to put priority on rushed shipments even if it means back burnering shipments that are already 2 or 3 months old.

Essentially I guess. It sounded (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) like they have put a complete hold on economy shipping and are prioritizing rushed shipping and up.

I interpreted it as when they did the move to the cavernous new building, they completely suspended Economy shipments, no matter how old/backlogged they were. It sounds like they have re-started them, albeit at way lower priority than the rush backlog. He claimed there will be a tracker on the site, maybe "in a few weeks", so you can see what date range of Economy they have caught up to.

Default All I want to do is talk about COMC

Tim said they have a million card backlog. And they’re shipping 50k a week. Hoping to increase that to 200k a week with the changes they’re making (which will take two months to implement - that’s also assuming a best case in the rollout of those changes).
Not hard to do the math. (That would also be without any new shipping requests.)

I’m still waiting on an economy order from October, I’m done with these clowns, especially after seeing my orders aren’t even a priority and they are willing to just let them sit because I didn’t want to pay their extortion fees on shipping.

At least this thread has some good entertainment value, I seem to have the urge to check it every day lol.

You have been waiting 6 months for your shipment?

It was requested in October and due to ship in January but no progress, that’s economy shipping for you, but it is usually a couple of hundred extra dollars to go rushed since I order so many cards.

But more like 5 months and a few weeks is the actual wait time so far.

Yeah, great. So you're selling stuff like wildfire. All that's gonna mean for the rest of us - as your buyers request their Rush shipments - is that we sit here a couple more months 'til we get our merchandise that we paid for months ago. You're just convincing me more that what these clowns need is a lawsuit to force them to suspend all other operations until they catch up on their obligations.

What I am wondering is if people are getting a cash out or store credit does COMC send out a 1099. I mean even if it is store credit capital is being transferred in one form or another.

If not there is a good chance their bank may rat them out at some point the IRS is tightening up those requirements as well.

They said all cards over $50 will get a toploader. So I guess that means yours will be in one, so let us know how that goes.

I just sent them a box containing almost 1000 top loaders, since they're paying 10 cents per, to go along with a small submission. They must not work weekends however...

Closed weekends. You sure think they would add some shifts to help this backlog, wouldn’t ya? They simply don’t care.

Yep, should have had everyone working Easter weekend.

5.5% negative or neutral the last month.

What’s crazy is they received 31935 unique feedback the last month, despite their six month average being 34965. Are their sales down that much, or are people withholding an avalanche of feedback because so many people are waiting for their cards?

I don't know how they sort or organize all the inventory, but the larger they get, the more spread out and less efficient they become. They need to find a way to "retire" the millions of dead cards, or archive them.

They are way too large to make any wholesale changes to the massive inventory. Would probably take years. And every person they throw at that project is one less person pulling orders, shipping, or scanning in new submissions.
If I recall correctly from the interview they pull so many thousand per week then they all have to be sorted for shipping. The machine they bought sounds like it is supposed to do the sorting (maybe more I am unsure exactly) and that they can now barcode every single card which will work with it. Before; some didn't have barcodes.

Another complication that is taking more labor away from other fulfillment duties is just the sheer volume of moving everything in trucks from the old building to the new.

I think there are multiple factors at work which is why the long timeline to getting it to a point that it is acceptable. It is a massive undertaking as you said. Getsch seemed pretty confident that it would be to the point by the end of 2021 that they would have reasonable guaranteed ship times but we will see.

He also mentioned doing away with certain services - at least for a while along with changing how they do submissions. One thing specific he mentioned was stopping raw card review as this is a time consuming use of labor when it would be better used elsewhere.

It also sounds like submissions are going to have changes. He mentioned changing how you sent cards to them in such a way that the card owners are doing some of the work that bog their processors down. He didn't specify how this would look but maybe it will include customers sorting the cards somewhat. But that's just my guess on what it might entail.

It sounded like these sort of changes would be announced in a blog post soon as he was working on it this past weekend.

As a Jewish person, why can't you work Saturday on Easter Weekend? Is there something I'm missing?
