I hate when I accidentally mail someone the wrong item and then sell another one. I had the same Carhartt Jacket but in 2 different sizes. I sent the guy the wrong one on Monday and just sold the other one tonight. That’s how I noticed my mistake. Hopefully the interception works. Luckily it just left my city tonight

Pretty sure we have all done that or something similar at times.

I ended all my listings yesterday. Sales are slow and need to do several things while we spend tge next six weeks trimming expenses and preparing my for when my wife has to stop working and she starts the disability filings. Hopefully it won't take long but lawyer said she will win but it could take 3 years so need to prepare for it. So gonna reset reorganize and try to teach her how to do ebay listings. Main goal though is cutting out my 2 storage units and that 400 a month rent

Bummer that you're jumping out of the game just as spring sales are starting to ramp up. Wishing the best to you and your wife. Don't be a stranger here. Your insight and advice is appreciated.

Not jumping out mainly just doing a hard reset. Trying to get to a more mobile inventory system that's better organized. I am going into a cash generation mode trying to get some bills paid off by April 12th. That is her tentative last day working

Idk if it’s the goodwill being so new but I have now found something all 3 times I have went there. Usually I find nothing at my other goodwill. On Wednesday I biked there and found some Vtech baby toy that comps out for $60 that was brand new that I paid $0.75 for and a dvd I already sold for $27 that I paid $1 for. Today I found 2 bobbleheads of my local minor league team I don’t know how much I’ll get maybe $30 each as well as a brand new pair of FootJoy shoes I paid up $20 but I have sold the same pair in the past for $75. I hope it keeps up!

Two questions since it seems to be a slow time of year for everyone.

1) Does anyone have a slow tail item but you have multiples of that sells every once in a while that keeps the money coming in?

I have three. One is a brand new Notre Dame coffee mug that I have 50 of, bought for .50 cents a piece and sell for $14.99. The other is Afghan Hooks, I got for free and have at least 100 of that sell in between 9.99 - $19.99. The last is Rip It Energy Stickers, I got for free from my old job and I sell those for $9.99 for four of them.

Not a lot of profit, but it all adds up to good profit when you add them all together.

Also, what is something that surprised you that sold where you were on the brink of not even bothering to list and thought about possibly throwing away.

Mine are these recently picked up Wincraft sports pennants. Some are heavily stained and have a musty smell to them, but it looks like they'll sell at auction possibly based off the amount of watchers I have on them. I got desperate for inventory and decided to pick them up for less than a dollar a piece.

Man the last two weeks on eBay have been dreadful.

On a positive note eBay removed all of my selling limitations so I can list and sell as much as I can.

Starting to dive into Lego. Not sets, pieces. Been researching Bricklink but it seems the platform is flooded with sellers.

One of my favorite things to sell. Every now and then you will come across some vintage lego loose pieces/figs at a thrift store. Great money in vintage figs. Also great money in vintage road base plates. Really good money in vintage base plates specific to pirates/forestmen/knights. So many ways to make money with Legos.

Don't forget other pieces unique to sets. Found an early 80s city set this weekend. Have already sold a piece with the business dame on it for more than I paid for whole box. It only had 480 of tge declared 560 pieces so just parting it out.

Yes I have had some slow tail items

One was a bumper sticker. Bought a bag of 140 of them for 3.00 they sold for 11.99 each. I had 18 left when I purged my store.

Another was some vintage beer stickers there were 3 different variations. I bought 25 sets on last day of estate sale for 1.00 I sold the stickers for 9.99 each. I had between 6 and 12 left.

Do you sell on Bricklink or eBay?

I've started listing individual pieces on eBay with some sales so far. It seems like most sellers that list pieces are foreign based. Might be an opportunity there...as tedious a process as it is.

Ebay. I have a bricklink account, but that is only for buying parts to complete sets. Also be aware, and I am no expert at this, for random pieces/figures that sell high because they are only available in certain sets. For example, the Goat from the medieval market set used to sell for $75ish, one small little Lego Goat, $75. However, now that a new medieval market is out with a new Goat mold, I'm sure that vintage price will take a little hit.

Think i may have found aomething good. Picked this up on last day of an estate sale for $10. Looking online I can not find one of these with the top emancipation bar part. I see two of the bottom token parts that sold for $260-360. Anyone have any idea how I can find some more info on this to come up with a value?

Guy messages me about an item and says “$75 and I’ll pay right away.”

I politely tell him due to cost of shipping and me offering to ship for free, the lowest I can go is $100.

In return he says “Meet me at $85, I’m located in Florida.”

Now Florida isn’t bad shipping rates for me, sure beats West coast shipping so I tell him sounds good. Shoot over the offer and I’ll accept.

He never shoots over the offer.

Today, I have the chance to send an eligible offer out on the same item. I send an offer out of $100.

THE SAME GUY accepts the offer and says, “I’ll accept the $100 offer but since I paid an extra $15, ship it priority mail bc I need it for an event soon.”

Priority mail was over double what it would originally cost me to ship this item. I’m not shipping priority mail.

How would you go about handling this?

Ship it in accordance with your listing. If your listing stated specifically priority you may have to. If your listing was USPS ground (or whatever the new shipping format that replaced first class), ship it that way. I would think that would cover you.

Ship it the way you stated. He actually broke Ebay rules by asking you to ship via a different method also broek another one for trying to negotiate shipping on a Best Offer. Shipping is considered non negotiable per Ebay.

While I completely agree with the above, expect a neg if you do it and a return if it doesn't meet his deadline.

I think that would get easily removed as long as it shipped via the method stated and shipped within his handling time.

Just had a similar situation. An item (a big, heavy book) was purchased last night. I packaged last night and dropped it off at the PO this morning. All my listings state that i will ship via the most economical means available. In this case, I shipped via media mail and the shipping was nearly identical to what was charged. Just got a message from the buyer that went on a tirade that I was fraudulent in my shipping. He is irate that I did not send it priority to Alaska and claims media mail does not deliver to Alaska. It was one of the most hateful messages I've ever received on ebay. I guess I'll wait and see.

USPS delivers to Alaska via media mail. I cannot vouch for Hawaii but I can't imagine it's excluded.

Just to follow up.....I reached out to him....told him I went to both USPS and UPS and both gave me the same exact delivery dates.....March 20th which both happened to be the fastest without having it over-nighted.

I then said instead of priority, it would be shipping UPS Ground and it would arrive at the same time if it were shipped priority. I originally had USPS Ground Advantage in my listing, but mentioned it would take longer.

He asked for $15 back as he stated he wanted it during a certain time. I told him I didn't understand the problem as I am shipping the item within five hours of it being purchased on the same day and am still shipping it the fastest way possible. The only thing I can do is cancel the transaction and refund his money.

He denied the cancellation and accepted UPS Ground and told me to send it.

I'm fully accepting a neutral at minimum, negative at worst. Now we wait and see.

You'll get it removed if you do get a negative or neutral. You shipped in accordance with your posting and clearly within your handling time. You'll be good. $15 partial refund? He was just trying to get it at a lower price and using a weak argument to do so. Dink move.

Ypu can cancel without his approval. I would have canceled saying problem with address blocked and reported him. Then if he leaves a feedback get it easily removed

I was not aware of this. I figured a cancellation would have automatically been grounds for a negative and it would've been hard to remove.

I'll be sure to utilize this in the future. I'll keep everyone posted on the outcome. Hopefully, it all goes smoothly.
