Is the rookie card shield on AJ Smith-Shawver in error? His 2024 cards had it and the 2025 base is a Future Stars.

I believe you are correct. Hopefully Topps corrects this.

Although it's always confusing to me how long someone can be a "rookie" in the league. I don't think Topps issues multi-year RC shields so it should be corrected -- good catch.

If you debut before mid June, you get the rc shield right away. After that, it’s the next year

I have a priority request in the event Topps is listening.

Out of the last half Century (1970-2025) there are only seven Hall of Fame Players yet to be featured:

1. Paul Molitor
2. Bruce Sutter
3. Jim Rice
4. Mike Schmidt
5. Bert Blyleven
6. Mike Mussina
7. Billy Wagner

Lets get on it.

Killebrew played to 75. Also he can technically have two cards in the set

*Rolls eyes*

Default Topps Living Set

Anyone else think the set will end at card #1000 like they did with the Star Wars set at #500?

To be blunt, no. There is no basis even speculate on this.

It's also like a year and a half away? Even if they do, they certainly haven't made that decision yet ...

There’s quite a bit to speculate on actually, Topps killed off Star Wars and didn’t even bother to bring back WWE, they gained F1 and Disney/Marvel and haven’t even attempt either of those, plus they are running out of key hall of famers first appearances in the set. I don’t see how they can make it past 1000 given how much they’re pushing Topps Now and they’ll need that printing time to crank out their upcoming licenses with NBA and NFL.

I think 1,000 is the natural place to finish it ... or try to improve the numbers.

I suspect they will end it.

I bet my extra Joe DiMaggio Living Set card against your $5 blowout cards coupon that it _does not_ end at or before card #1000.

Still waiting for Sandy Koufax. A Whitey Ford would be nice too. There are still plenty of past HOFers and stars that should have a TLS card.

Easier said than done when you have to secure the individual retired players rights, living or estates. It will be watered down within the next couple years if it goes past 1000.

They have an endless supply of rookies and veterans, not to mention the retired fan favorites they are now doing.

Absolutely! Over 200 mlb debuts yearly. I would love to see players who have never appeared on a topps or bowman card prior.

“Watered down”.

With each passing season new baseball stars and fan favourites emerge. As well, have you taken a look to see how many former greats and hall of famers remain? If you factor in topps’ willingness to feature former greats on multiple teams we are far from reaching “watered down”

If they do Topps Living for the NBA and/or NFL, which designs should they choose?

For the NBA, I'd choose either the 71-72 or 72-73 designs.....

For the NFL, either the 1955 Bowman, 1956 Topps, or 1957 Topps designs.

Don't the first two have like background photographs and terrible white outlines around the player? The '57 would be twice as much work for an artist. Not sure I'd be in for any of these, would prefer something more like '76 or even '58 if the card design must be from the 50s ...
