I think if you look at the Bowman Chrome more like it’s his 1st Bowman then it makes more sense.

Personally I don’t care for the Topps Chrome image. The quality just looks like a cheap poster more than a photograph. Not the case with the Chrome update image quality or Bowman Chrome.

Well there's always personal preference, so I get that. I like both images. I don't find the Topps quality an issue, think it looks fine. I'd probably lean aesthetically to the BC.

I guess I'm thinking brand/pedigree/staying power.

As far as the BC 1st, wouldn't he 2017 mega be more along those lines?

BC is a strange breed outside of the milb insert autos.

for years and years and years topps made boat loads of retail BC. years back they decided to no longer make retail

so you get what we have here with Ohtani.

2018 Topps Chrome has tons of SKUs.

2018 BC has one Sku

Yeah that makes sense. Sounds like BC value will hold long term over TC. (in this case of Ohtani)

What do we think of the 2018 topps chrome update auto? Really low pop but sticker auto. Still looks good but debating on 'consolidating' it

A raw Bowman blue refractor just ended as well for 3x ($5,650)what the Topps Chrome PSA 9 did.

While I like the image on the BC better, I don’t believe it’s 3 times what the Topps Chrome should sell for.

Which, as you already know, is why I was the winner of the Topps Chrome blue for under 2k

Also I hope to add a BC refractor one day as well. Hopefully I can snag one on the off season

I only have a single rookie Ohtani blue refractor - Bowman's Best PSA 10. I'm content with that for now. The price on the Bowman Chrome is too high IMO and I'm more focused on S2 than Topps Chrome for his flagship image.

Yeppers. Same image. I went with S2 over TC because it was released first and because 2018 has the sweetest looking parallels of any flagship issue. Also helps that, for the most part, the parallels are cheaper than equally low serial #ed parallels from TC.

Hobby definitely puts a premium in chrome in general. Agree on the 2018 parallels!

Not really. The buyer could easily have already set a snipe/bid much higher than yours.

Correct. That's why it's important to bid what you want to pay. If you really want the card and just snipe an enormous amount you run the risk of someone else doing the same thing. The result is you end up paying much more than you wanted to.
