Yep, and that's no bad thing.

Only way to estimate is based off of their current turnaround times. There is no standard timing for each stage of the process, it's dependent on the tier and volume at the time.

Hope they change that policy, it is crappy that you have to pay more for a grade that actually might be a higher grade already in reality.
I don't know how you are supposed to get perfect 10s on subs if you don't pay for the sub service? 10 Pristine and 10 Perfect are really the same grade anyways. CSG made the same gimmic mistake as BGS black label. I don't think CSG grades using subs if you don't pay for it. Meaning, their isn't "invisible" subs or whatever. You can argue that using subs may be a bit more accurate since they have to spend more time on the card. Not sure how true that is or they just work backwards on the full grade. BGS subs were notoriously inconsistent even if the overall grade stayed the same.

My 73 card bulk no-subs test batch just popped and shipped. I sent it in mid-April, marked received 6/23/21, and shipped 10/18/21. It was mostly modern with some vintage mixed in, and I'm definitely pleased with the grades.

I managed to get about a dozen 10s from them, including on an Ohtani 2018 Update US1. To get subs on the 10s do I just send them back as a crossover using bulk/economy plus the sub fee or is there some other way to do it?

Thinking about sending a bulk order in, for those who have submitted bulk orders, when have you noticed them charging your card? When they receive the package, when entered into the system, once graded, etc?

When it reaches Grading stage you get hit with grading fee...Then another month or two before ready to ship back for bulk anyway

So the current turnaround time is 171 days. So let's roughly say 6 months. So April. So expect to get charged around March-ish if I make a submission by end of October?

Had a nice bulk sub pop today. Lots of Jordan and Kobes and I was pleasantly surprised to get 9s on quite a few after buying raw on ebay a year ago.

Take their turnaround times with a grain of salt. I'm on business day 118 of a Standard order.

Got an Econ order back (3 cards, no subs) last week on Friday that I submitted first week of August

Think that's what... 70-80ish days?

Have a few bulk orders I submitted in June and July that are floating around somewhere... think they'll both be back sometime before the end of this year

I received an order from CSG. I love their boxes and want to sent another submission to them in the one I received. When the box is wrapped it is difficult to determine where the flaps are and I ended up destroying it while opening.

Can anyone tell me how I can open one of their shipping boxes so I can reuse it with a future submission?

If you opt for USPS Registered, they really do lay the tape on. I like saving those boxes as they are great for subs and also shipping in general. I destroyed my first one just getting it open, but I saved it any way and used it as a guide to help get the next one opened without too much damage. An Exacto is helpful in making precise cuts.

Looks like CSG realized their online scans looked like garbage and switched to photos. Much better.

How rare are Pristine 10s? I had a submission with 8 cards and received one.

Don't like how they changed it to current timeliness when I paid it was a different deal. 50 card sub back in April. Bad business. Won't get another dollar from me.

The deal was always the same - timelines are an estimate based off of the current volume. Plus you didn't pay when it was sent in, you pay when it goes to shipping.

You pay when it goes to grading/encapsulation. And if your submission was dated prior to the price change, they will adjust it to the old prices. All I had to do was send an email when I received my email with the submission invoice.

1 of my bulk orders I sent at the beginning of April just popped

1 -10
32- 9.5
27- 9
9- 8.5
4- 8
4- 7.5

Overall pleased, but not sure why I got the 7.5's.

My first submission with CSG... and in fact, only my 3rd submission ever anywhere (1st in 5 years)... about what I expected... admittedly, I am no expert in determining whether a card is good for a submission or not, so, I'm not really surprised by the grades... though the Acuna and Ohtani were lower than I expected..

If you were wondering, the Salas is #1/1 and the Bagwell is #5/5. I figured both would be nice to have slabbed, regardless of grade.

Received 9/24/2021
Shipped 11/11/2021
Standard Service Level - total 34 business days
