Just received payment ($3200) for a 2020 TC Sapphire F1 box I shipped to one of the big 3 last week (initial cost of the box was already covered from a past F1 play so this sale was 100% profit).

Used half of those funds to pick up a 2021 Prizm Football FOTL box.

Man, 2020 TC Sapphire F1 has been awesome. Still have 2 "free" boxes of it and a $1600 remaining balance (from aforementioned sale) to play with.

with most of the big boys out already, i think the drop in wax price is warranted, also, the singles market is in a downward swing, so that might have something to do with it.

Which would you rather hold long term assuming same grade... 2020 Hamilton variation or 2020 gold Lando auto?

So I was looking at the auction results for pwcc last night, and saw the base non-portrait Hamilton superfractor went for $33k. It’s a great card…and I’m wondering if members here think that price is about what they expected? Too high or low?

I myself was a little surprised at how low it went, but there’s no doubt the portraits are the focus of the set. On the other hand, the parallels for card #174 don’t sell for anywhere near the auction amount, so maybe it was too high.

I’m curious how people view the non-portrait, non-Grand Prix base, given the Hamilton portrait super went for 900k and the leclerc super went for 260k+. Is the portrait that much nicer than the base pics?

I am currently chasing the rainbow of the #174 so have been following these very closely. The 70th SuperFractor PSA 10 went for 20.8 in May and the true 1/1 that sold yesterday previously sold for 18k in Feb. I woke up VERY surprised that it went for almost 2x that this fast and when I watch a Youtube VOD of live coverage of the PWCC Premier, I noticed it was two people just continously battling it out one upping each other. IMO it went higher than I expected by a considerable margin.

Strong sale for sure. It went for almost double what it sold for on Goldin just 4 months ago.

Whaaat wow didn’t realize that card had just sold for $18k in Feb…! Definitely gives me a new perspective on last night’s auction. I guess it only takes two people who really want a card to do that when it’s a 1/1.

Yep when someone outbids you immediately after you bid it can make you do some very irrational things.... Thats exactly what happened

Start watching from 2:39:00 and you can start to see the Hamilton instantly
get new bids

Speaking of superfractors, do ALL 70th superfractors in 2020 Chrome have 2 copies? Or does it vary?

For example, Ive the Sergio Perez 70th Super Portrait #13 has 2 graded, 1 PSA 9 and 1 PSA 10 but pack odds come out to it only having 1.

I have seen 2 copies of about 5 cards. I have a Kimi portrait and I know another one exists. Also seen a Max Driver of the day with 2 copies. Cant remember the others. Somebody worked it out that the 70ths should mostly only have 1 copy but due to pack odds a handful will have 2 copies.

I think someone calculated based on the pack odds that there are between 2 and 5 cards that should have 2 70th superfractors. Earlier in this thread there were pictures of 2 separate 70th supers of the kimi portrait and of one of the verstappen gp/awards cards. Maybe the Perez portrait is another one of them…but that could also be a regrade if the psa 9 came first. The vast majority of the cards in the 200 base set should have only 1 70th superfractor.

wow..the most hyped card in 2020 is crashing hard. Lewis IV PSA 9 sold for $3700. Ouch. Wasn't that a $15-16k card at some point?

I don't think it was that high.. maybe $8K but yeah... they have softened quite a bit.

Verstappen starting to see a little action.

PSA 10 Refractors had hit under $1000 recently and after today 2 sold for $1225 or so.

Guessing the 80 point lead and likely back to back WDC are the reason.

It was really rhetorical, I know they got up to $16k at one point and the PSA 10 was as high as $30k. I sold my PSA 9 for $8k on Ebay and that was when everyone freaked out and it went crazy in late 2021. I knew it was only because there were so few copies graded and once the pop report exploded the price would be driven down. We've seen that time and time again but it was funny to watch people claim it would continue to go to the moon like the rest of 2020.

That's a 50% drop in the PSA 10 and a 75% drop in the PSA 9 in what many people claimed was the best card in the set. Crazy.

I recently picked the card back up as it's so cheap right now I figured how much further down can it go.

not sure if this has been addressed before, so i apologize if this is a rehash but: has anyone seen a comprehensive or definitive checklist for the available autographs in this set? this set was pretty quirky, and i kinda suspect that certain drivers only have certain parallels instead of the whole spectrum. is this laid out anywhere?

i know that f2 drivers are the only green/99 parallels but what about the others? as an example, i don’t know that i’ve ever seen a (regular) gold autograph for verstappen, or a gold wave autograph for hamilton…actually i’m not sure i’ve ever seen a regular gold auto for hamilton either.

For Hamilton for certain I can say there are only

Base /58
Orange /25
Red /5
Superfractor /1

no gold, no wave parallels, so that makes it only 89 total.

Thanks, much appreciated on the confirmation…that’s indeed what I suspected was the case. So..is this because you’ve seen this shown somewhere on a checklist? Or just something you’ve observed because no one seems to have seen gold or colored wave parallel Hamilton autographs?

For example, do gold verstappen parallels exist? I’ve only seen gold wave versions. Or orange wave verstappen? I’ve only seen true orange versions. True gold sainz autos? I’ve only ever seen gold wave versions. Granted I know I haven’t seen everything pulled everywhere, and I’m super reliant on what I see in these forums, cardladder and ebay, but I guess I just figured more examples of these might have been posted by now, if they do exist.

The autograph distribution of what we have seen after more than a year just seems super idiosyncratic to me…I know the production of this set was error-strewn (which I think makes it kinda fun) but I do wonder if any of the drivers have a full parallel set of autos. If not, good autographs would be even tougher to pull than we thought.

It’s the same thing with other quirks of the set:

- more than one 70th anniversary superfractor for some cards
- no superfractors seen for track tags
- no autos on certain vettel/albon autos
- inconsistent and SP numbering for F1 driver autos

Just wish there was some definitive information source. But as I said, I guess it’s part of the fun of the set, and was just curious if anyone knew more about this.
