Probably cause they set the schedule ahead of time and wasn't expecting those two to get through their conference finals that quickly.
But as a fan, I too hate the two days rest in between. But they probably wanted everyone fresh

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you that celtics were a super team. Was just pointing out those guys weren't free agents.
While they were not free agents at that time, they had the leverage to move out their teams on their own choices.

I guess my point was that, it did not matter if they were really free agents or were under the contract. Their superstar status made them so much power to determine their own career paths. Both Allen and KG knew what they worked on.

3 days between with no travel is silly. I understand a tad when it's switching up home court, but there is no reason why game 1 should've been Thursday then game 2 wasn't until Sunday.

LeBron was traded for a packet of chips. He was a free agent, unrestricted. The trade only happened so he could sign for the amount he wanted and the Cavs would get SOMETHING from the deal.

You really think a prime LeBron would only bring 2 x 2nds?

The Wolves had to gut their roster to get KG.

I can't remember what Seattle got for Ray or if he was a FA.

But like I said, the Boston thing really aint the same as the Heat thing. Even though that was the model LeBron was copying. If we're honest, Hakeem, Barkley and Drexler started the old men getting together for one last shot, or Pip, Hakeem and Barkley.

Were they Kettle Natural Chilli chips? If so, that's not a terrible deal.

I'll be really shocked if the Cavs lose tonight. It's gonna have to be a full team effort, Lebron and love can't be the only ones producing.

This is the one game I think they can win. Big three will all need to be on their A game, and at least someone on the supporting cast has got to step up and put points on the board (Deron? Korver?).

Lue said that the game plan isn't going to change, except that Tristan will get fewer minutes because he doesn't produce on offense. FYI. If we can take Lue's word.

I'm curious to see how the league will extend this series out. My guess is that Green and Curry will be in foul trouble most of the game and James will go to the line at least 10 times.

Warriors will still win though

The main difference was that both KG and Allen joined Boston at the same time. The core was not in Boston at that time. They still had to figure out the rotation and the roles.

Hakeem and Drexler (the core) were there before Barkley. And Hakeem and Barkly were there before Pippen. If anything like this, it would be what Durant did last summer Or Karl Malone/Payton joining Lakers in 2003.

You could go all the way back to 1968 to find the first instance of this occurring when Wilt Chamberlain demanded to be traded to a West Coast team. After Wilt threatened to join an ABA team if the Sixers didn't give in to his demands he was dealt to the Lakers. Wilt would later say that the Lakers were the only team he would have agreed to be traded to. I think Wilt's desire to be traded to LA had more to do with the Hollywood lifestyle than creating a super team, but regardless the Lakers benefitted by Wilt's trade demand by having him join up with Jerry West and Elgin Baylor.

Don't mistake Sports Hate with regular hate. Sports hate is that you don't like a team/player and you want your team/other team to beat them. However, it doesn't mean you wish anything bad on the player in real life (injuries, personal tragedies, etc.)

The problem is when fans take it to real and cross the line. Those guys seem to be doing it in jest.

If the warriors keep shooting like they do and Cavs struggle, what can the refs really do? 43 three point attempts is crazy when you think about it.

I'm really looking forward to tonight:

Will the Cavs defense show up?

Will Curry and KD continue to dominate?

Will Draymond get t'd up for his theatrics after committing a foul?

Will this thread blow-up from the constant baiting between Cavs/Warriors fans?

I'm guessing this will be the lowest scoring game of the series so far with a tight Cavs win. If that happens, we have a series. If the Warriors win---it's over.

Those shirts are exactly what rivalries are supposed to be about from a fans perspective. Most of the stuff that has gone on in here, while amusing to me, would likely be looked down upon by non-sports fans as somewhat childish.

I will have popcorn ready for the game and for this thread tonight. Carry on everyone! Amuse me!
