The site continues to work randomly for me. I was on it an hour ago on my laptop, now I can't get in again. I could not access on my phone this morning, but now I can.

It's a good thing they have an update on some dude buying a lot of Yordan Alvarez cards on their Twitter. At least we are getting up to date info.

I particularly don't understand this upcoming eBay promotion. I haven't followed the details closely, but doing anything to just dig the hole deeper right now doesn't seem wise, to this customer. I suspect their problem is hiring difficulties. Anyone who has never tried to recruit and hire and most importantly, retain, employees probably has little grasp of the difficulties there. And is why I know 50¢ will be the minimum intake fee going forward.

but for me, I only have $15 in store credit left, and one shipment of cards now one week past the already 3 month long promised wait, with still one? week to go in the "added 1-2 week buffer" that at this point is just more random opaque gobbledeegook. and perhaps one such needed shipment to pull back a random remaining inventory of both forever worthless, and $2 cards that I do think will appreciate, some day.

And the real reason I follow this thread and all the travails and tribulations always circles back to this: they still have cards I want to purchase for my collection, if I somehow can. and more of such cards keep appearing, now under their control. and when those cards are /25 or so...whaddyagonnado?
I have been with COMC from day one with multiple accounts back then....I remember when submission fees went from 5 cents to 10 cents I think and everyone (Everyone meaning their was about 200 of us) had a fit and were screaming bloody murder and how everyone was leaving because the fees were too high, yet nobody left............Now their processing fees went up from 35 cents to 50 cents and they are getting more submissions than ever..........They truly are bullet proof and this is why they do not care to improve anything.........it is like the insanely hot girl, she can be the biggest bitsh, have no personality or anything yet everyone still wants her and she KNOWS it just like comc knows it

They could raise fees to a dollar a card and business would still be booming and they know it People would just say the same thing they say now "well I could get $1.75 for that card and a 40 cent profit or whatever is better than sitting in my house collecting dust ".........Only in America

I just searched their auctions, you get 256 results for 'auto' and 316 for 'autograph'. Given how the item specifics work, they should definitely be putting 'auto' in every title.
Oh sweet, I see what you mean. Thanks, I appreciate the response

While I think that COMC should find a way to pull back on some aspect in order to catch up, I'm not sure "pausing" their eBay auctions would be anything they'd remotely consider (or pausing submissions, either). My impression is that these auctions are probably a decent chunk of their income right now and asking them to stop that would be like asking McDonald's to stop selling fries because service got so slow.

That's about right. The auctions are what started this mess even before Covid. They didn't have the amount of workers needed. Add in covid and got worse. Problem is, they are still getting worse.

That's what bothers me about them using COVID as an excuse for everything.

In the past 12 months, they've had 3,026 non-positive feedbacks on eBay. 2,718 of them have happened in the past 6 months, and 1,327 of them have happened in the past 30 days.

So for the first 6 months of this, when things were truly shut down and it was much harder to get standard operations back on track, they managed to keep the non-positives to a minimum. Now that things are opening back up, they have fallen apart on what has obviously been the most important part of their business since it started.

I like COMC and I want it to succeed, because there's truly nothing else out there like it. I hate watching it run like garbage because of a lack of effort.

On another note, it seems like they have at least one app server down. I cannot currently get into the site in Firefox, and I can in Chrome on the same laptop.

Both Chrome on a Chromebook and an iPhone have worked consistently for me for the last few days, if you have either of those available to you.

I was reading some of those negatives and it seemed lots of them were just stupid buyers. One negative was bc he didn’t get the original box Project 2020 cards came in. Another said it took a week to ship the cards (that was 6 of the negatives). Quite a few said the sale was cancelled (probably bc it sold on site). Some people just don’t understand what type of business they are.

I'm sure they aren't all warranted, obviously buyers can be unreasonable sometimes. That's always been there though, and when you see the rate of negs/neutrals increasing four or five-fold at a time when COVID restrictions are being eased, that's not a good sign.

You’re definitely right, they aren’t going to consider a pause on eBay to catch up with everything else. But should they really hold a week long eBay auction event while they’re so backed up?

Seems like a giant middle finger to everyone who has been waiting months to get some cards delivered or uploaded.

I was able to get on through Microsoft Edge. I never use Edge, but Chrome wasn't working.

I'm pretty tired of the Covid excuse - it just seems like a continuation of their inability to keep to any sort of reasonable timeline. I have a large amount of cards to send in to be added to the site, but they're just sitting here because I can't trust them to come anywhere close to the promised date and I want to be able to pull some out and sell them if the player gets hot during the season.

Exactly. Plenty of money is lost waiting on them to ship cards that have been sitting overdue nearly a month now(month and a half since request). I wouldn't call that "rushed".

For those wondering, the State of Washington is moving into the next "phase" of opening up/reducing covid restrictions on March 22nd - meaning all indoor spaces can operate at 50% capacity (it's currently 25%). With this, we should see a ramping up of shipping times, as they bring their 50 new hires online and into the system. Depending on if all 50 are still with the company in the next 9 days...

While I agree that they are not likely to 'pause' their Ebay efforts how about stopping the promotions with Ebay that will only drive more tarffic? I'm sure they are paying a hefty marketing fee for that and all it will do is make things worse.

Ugh - I bit the bullet today and paid $500 to have 1,000 of my top cards sent home. Maybe I'll have them before the MLB All-Star break.

I have a pretty established Ebay account myself that I will take my chances with.

site is fubar

what a combination, the hideously slow and awkward epacks site and the terribly unreliable relic that is COMC!

Do you guys bother flipping anything you see or do you only target "flavor of the year" players like Herbert, Tua, (soon Lawrence) etc.

My last 12 sales, 9 have been quarterbacks. Nothing else seems to really sell (at least not anytime soon). Clearly, quarterbacks move faster and everybody wants their quarterback. Is it pointless to target anything else? Even if you know there is a decent flip in there?

For example, I bought a few cards of Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Rob Gronkowski, etc. before the super bowl. While the Gronk cards sold pretty fast, I'm still sitting on Evans and Godwin etc.

No issues moving quarterbacks though.

I have a tough time moving football at all usually. It’s weird. But maybe I just don’t target the correct stuff. I’ve always had better luck flipping baseball or basketball. But I’m way more familiar with baseball pricing in general so that helps too.

Yeah, I need to get more familiar with baseball and basketball. As a casual with those sports, I only know about the names that "float around" like Lebron, LaMello, Luka, etc.

Does COMC actually take a decent look at cards when placing them in [EX to NM] category? Seems questionable at times.

Overdue shipments is really going to destroy goodwill to this site. If you just want to be an eBay repository, just say it .. because what they are doing to users on the site who actually purchase cards instead of flipping it, is disgusting.
