It's a (very) minor thing, but this week's cards are a bit of a milestone in my mind, as it will include card #792. During the heyday of my collecting years as a kid, a standard Topps set would consist of 792 cards, so that number has always stuck out in my head. With the Living Set about to reach card 792, a small, formative part of my brain will now consider it a full set.
It's been quite a ride; I'm looking forward to where it goes from here. |

Brenton Doyle came close to becoming the new living set GOAT at 1,166? While he beat Shane McClanhan who was at 1,197 Tejada remains king at 1,158?

Disappointing week in terms of player selection (Yuki Matsui and Bryan Woo). It would have been nice to see a better finish to 2024. When did the Living Set turn into the Living Rookie Set? All of the good 2024 rookies were already done. There are so many current and retired players that need to be done. Richie Allen would have been a great choice this week.

I am still hoping to see:
Schmidt, Koufax, DiMaggio, Seaver, Joe Morgan, Reggie Jackson, Killebrew, Molitor, Ott, Bonds, Sosa, McCovey, Carlton, Whitey Ford off the top of my head. Assuming we get one of these guys as card 800. Would like to see a HOFer at least once a month next year. These last few weeks haven't been great on names that is for sure, but I am still in until the end. Who do you all want to see as card 800? Could see it being Bonds with the Topps announcement, but I am hoping for Mike Schmidt or Sandy Koufax. |

I have the complete set so I buy whatever is released. However, some Wednesdays are more exciting than others. I would love to see Koufax as #800 but there are many other players I would like to see, such as Seaver, Schmidt, Drysdale and some older players like Walter Johnson and Dizzy Dean.

Topps ! Get it together. Time to bust out of that slump. Give these amazing artists quality selections and not C grade rookies. With so many great players remaining and the fact that you are open to players being featured on multiple teams there is not need of the hot garbage. Let’s go.

There's unfortunately too many cheaters in the set already, but if they simply must with Bonds, assign the artists each one half of Barry, let's say Angel does Pittsburgh, and Jared takes San Fran, both right down the middle, one left, one right, and then marry them together.
Let it be the first Living Set "jam" piece. Like this, but with Bonds. ![]()

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
It's been a busy couple months for me as I've been working overtime to accommodate some time off. But 2024 is finally over. It was a great year for the Living Set. My hat is off to the Topps Living Set crew who continually listened to collectors and worked to keep the set fun. Now that 2025 is here (which sounds like a sci-fi movie timeline to me), it'd be great to hear your Top 10 Wishlist for inclusions to the set. There are still so many great names to be featured. Now is a great time for you to repost those wish lists. AND WHILE YOU'RE AT IT...... We will be at card no.1000 before you know it. (Is it really the last card scheduled for 2026? Someone doublecheck me on that please) Who should be on card #1000? I'd love to jump start the suggestions with Alexander Cartwright. Lastly, here's a look at my top 10 print runs for 2024. Long live the Living Set and I hope all of you have a very prosperous 2025! ![]() |

Barry Bonds
Mike Schmidt Pete Rose I could probably get to 10 if I gave it a bit more thought, but those three are head and shoulders above the rest. And no, I won’t hold my breath for a Rose. |

Rose and Shoeless Joe Jackson have the slimmest of chances getting into the set since Topps must get MLB approval for any card added to the Living Set. Until MLB softens their position, the two of them seem to be perennial outsiders looking in. But they are both nonetheless on my suggestion list shared with Topps.
