Holy cow, whattacard!
His best-looking issue, imo

Congratulations!

Some people think his current prices are the ceiling for the near future and are flattening and coming down soon.

I tend to think they can still go up once he actually secures the MVP, and then as we move into spring even more.

Sure there could be a few sneaky buying opportunities between now and Spring, but I still believe his prices could grow (maybe not all cards but key cards/sets).

Congratulations!!! That is an amazing card. Are you planning on keeping long term or selling (not that I could afford to buy). I wonder if Trueblue is going to make you an offer you can't refuse?

I watched a ton of cricket, rugby, F1 and Liverpool football (soccer).

I can't wait for tonight's game!!!
Before that I was stationed in Hawaii for the third time, also happened to be born & raised on Oahu and the family remained there. Despite the separation, it was kind of nice not having to come home to kids fighting and whining every day.

Never made it to mainland Japan to see Ichiro live but I probably did see him as a relatively unknown teenager when he played in the Hawaii Winter League in the early 90s. By the time he was with Orix he was a national hero.

Google it, you'd be surprised how many future MLBer passed through. Well over a hundred and some big names too!

I think 2018 Bowman is his iconic card. In terms of base and just an opinion.

Thoughts?

seems to be the case, is that because of lower PR or simply due to the hitting image?

I'm going to the game tonight and I hope Ohtani tosses another gem.
In 1919, Babe Ruth had 9 wins as a pitcher and 29 HR as a batter.
Tonight Shohei has a chance for his 10th win and 40th HR!

I am totally jealous of your Hawaii and Japan assignments! I did 20 years and my assignments were Lackland and Luke (where I still work as a civvie) with 3 Middle East deployments.

on the kiddos part.

Thanks for the link - that's a great read!

#49 image (paper or BCA) is the best rookie card image from my perspective. Aside from the affinity of it being the 1st BCA image, it's just a theatric image I never get tired of looking at. Pair that with a big bold complex auto and it's chef's kiss!

It all evens out... I was banished from my brethren and got orders to a non-existent billet at Travis rendering me non-competitive, hit HYT and forced to retire. 5 months later OIF kicked off and volunteered to return to AD but recall would mean I had to be promoted and given a new lease on life so here I am 20 years later doing the exact same job, except not in my nice clothes.

Been to Lackland, Kelly, Warner Robbins, Hickam, Kadena, Yokota, Beale, McClelland, Mather, March & Scott before landing here. As limited as our bases are can't really complain because the rumor that the AF has all the best of everything is a damn lie!

I have been looking for this card for about 3 years now to complete my rainbow (I have all parallels except the super and atomic). But now I do not think I can afford it . Glad it has been found, good luck with the sale if it is your card.
