Thanks just read about it. I would have went as I live 5 minutes away.
Do you know if these will be monthly? Was it any good?

I'm debating doing the Dedham, MA monthly show on Sunday or the Foxwoods show. Dedham show should have ~80 tables. Foxwoods mentions ~100. I'm assuming Foxwoods would have a wider variety, but I can get to Dedham in 15-20 mins, while Foxwoods takes about 1:15.

If you're going to do a monthly MA show, I'd recommend the Woburn (Best Flippin') card show at Crown Plaza hotel. I think it's in the ballpark of 80-100 tables

Tabled at the Hofstra show in long island. Place was packed from beginning to end. Sold off a lot of my lower end dollar stuff which I was happy about

No clue what their plan is. Need a bigger location as it was very tight.

I did well selling things. I’m not a good person to ask how it was as a customer though. I’m very particular at what I buy and most shows don’t have it.

Good vibe in the room though.

Saw a lot of them trying trade up challenges, etc…

I didn’t know there was shows in Greensboro and Waynesville. I googled and tried to find info on those but didn’t have any luck. Do they have a website or anything that has any info?
I was wondering about the new Salisbury show. I've gone to the other promoter (Inside Pitch) show there and they are excellent. I do mostly vintage and it sounds like this newer one is more newer stuff so not worth the hour+ drive for me.
It is questionable that the newer promoter is using the same location, feels kinda shitty, but I guess if they can fill the place and make a go of it it's a free country.

I will say, as someone who has been setting up at various shows in NC (Charlotte/Winston area) and talking to the other dealers, they tend to set up a few times a month (maybe each weekend) and have seen a lot of the same guys at various shows/promoters. I guess this could be a good or bad thing.

Where can I find a show near me? I’m in the Bay Area, north.

I went to both the Hickory and Salisbury show the past couple of weekend. The new Salisbury show had very little vintage (mainly what I was looking for). Lots of the new shiny stuff at this one. Hickory on the other hand had a good mixture of both.

I was a little apprehensive at first in the beginning of the year but now I believe that this is going to be an absolute monster year for card shows. Assuming your inventory is correct and your pricing is on, you should absolutely kill it.

I think more and more people are starting to think that. You can never accurately predict long term, but I think this spring will be red hot.

Here are my expectations for the April Chantilly show:

1. A lot of the same cards in showcases that I have seen at the last 6+ shows

2. Thinned herd of peli-boys

3. Strong vintage that may be overpriced, but it sure is nice!

4. More people hunting gems in the bargain bins. Most will find retail Topps chrome refractors of guys like Eric Hosmer and Pablo Sandoval

Went to a new show in South Jersey this past weekend (the brotherly love show discussed above). This was a first for this show and directly competed with a show located 25 minutes away that runs every other week.

The new show had about 35-40 vendors and was WAY too crowded (paired with a poor layout). The layout had about 4 rows with vendors on each side of the row, however the tables ran all the way to the back wall so everyone walks up and down the same row which barely was able to fit people looking at tables let alone passing by.

Being in South Jersey, there was an overwhelming amount of Hurts and Maxey cards. I ended up picking up two cards, but a lot of the pricing was wild, not just the Philly stuff. Some prices I specifically remember: Jackson Holliday base chrome auto -$375, Maxey Momentous RC Auto /10 - $1,200, 2003 Tribute Babe Ruth Relic raw - $500 (a gem is fs on ebay for $550 obo).

Customer traffic volume, waiting list for booths, dollars spent on quality value that customers either collect or can't get beat up on if they hold for resell down the road.

Most likely, but for the smart dealers profits should be up for 2023 down the line.

This is just my perspective from the Madison Wisconsin area.

Card Shows now are treated more as a "Trade Night" than full blown card show.
All these young collectors is a large BOOM to this hobby.
I'm seeing more groups Split a table. (3) guys split a table 3 ways and try to trade UP. These young collectors know there are many places to sell cards today. Ebay - COMC - Facebook - instagram.
This isn't just local cards shops and "Weekend Warriors' (Old Beckett term) setting up at shows anymore.

Does this mean more money is being spent. probably NO
But if somebody is paying 15 dollars for a 1/3rd of a table. Can make trades, and turn a profit off the trades. That's a WIN
