I’m going off no info

But I’m guessing boxes will be loaded like avengers metal.

That’s my guess

The price per card seems so high in the hobby boxes. Just what it is, I guess. My enthusiasm is on hold a bit but I'm still cautiously looking forward to opening the blasters as some winter nostalgia good times.

When is this set coming out? I thought it was early Dec, but was it pushed back? Is it now the 18th?

One thing about UD losing the license soon…can’t push back and delay forever, thank goodness…it’s gonna have to come out soon.

My usual pre-order source says it was delayed. No firm date, but the 18th could be it.

My LCS had 12/18 on the books whenever I posted about it... 11/19. There was at some point a first week of Dec. date, Dyna -- I recall it, too.

Yea I know for sure the other major online retailer had it as Dec 4th at one point.

I agree it looks like 18th is the new date now. Right before Christmas

With checklist out. I did not think this would have got pushed back.

But even with the license change would it really shock anyone if it came out in February?

Huh, not sure why I thought hobby was 18th. Hopefully 11th it is then. Not gonna hold my breath though

There's a post on FB talking about this.

UD claiming the short shipping week and Black Friday shipping craziness caused a week's delay in getting the cards out.

This set looks nice. It would be great if UD stop releasing the other lesser sets like the women of marvel, infinity war, secret war, and others and make more platinum versions of other iconic 90s sets like the 1992 X-men Series 1 and the 1992 Marvel Universe series 3, especially the Silver Surfer card from that set.

I assume you know UD is losing the Marvel license, right? They are shoving everything out of the door that is finished, from the looks of it.

That would have been cool. They kind of did X-Men '92 with the Kith collaboration.

Platinum 1996 Marvel Masterpieces would have been nuts.

I realize I've already responded, but I'll also add that those those "lesser sets" are the more affordable options for some buyers. Not every can (or would) pay $800 for a box of MM. Those others hit in very specific niche areas, so they serve a purpose.

Besides, if UD started making Platinum versions of every set, it would grow tiring very quickly. Like how Topps makes a Sapphire version of about anything these days.

I kind of agree. If every 90s set was cloned into platinum, it impinges on the identity of the 90s marvel era. Let that era stand on its own without all the reprint sets. BUT…I’m ok taking a couple of the best, like this 92MM, or maybe if they did 94FUXM or 96MM.

I know some are calling this one a money grab…but I think it’s a cool one nonetheless.

I'm not asking for all or most of the 90s sets to be made into platinum, just a few more cause there are some cards that I simply love and had hoped that there are rarer versions of it, instead of just a common base card. For me, one card that came to mind is the 1992 Marvel Universe Silver Surfer base card.

A Cosmic parallel of '92 Marvel Universe Silver Surfer would look great.

I could see a Platinum reprint of both '92 Marvel Universe and '92 X-Men with additional characters and newer artwork added -- like a low series reprint and high series with newer characters and artwork.

Yeah, I would love that. We don't exactly know the date that the license expire and even then, they can collaborate or lease out the right, though not likely. For those guys like me who are nostalgic about the early 90s cards, don't some of you ever hope that a few of your favorite cards would be reprinted in rarer and shiny variants?

Some purists probably would be against it (as mentioned as some SW collectors were for sapphire). It doesn’t really bother me…it’s true the rarity, which we did *not* have in the 90s era whatsoever, makes it interesting. In addition to your 1992MU Surfer example I’d add the Venom from that set. Indeed 92MU would be a cool set to see like this. Not sure what they’d do for the holos though. UD doesn’t really make holos like that.

Guessing some LCS didn’t have delayed orders and broke street date.

I heard through the grapevine someone that had opened two boxes and put them on eBay and only got 2 numbered cards total. 1 numbered card per a box is not a great rate. If that’s the case the print run on this is going to be insane.
