Possibly, but this will be one of the few Wemby Autos that will say RC on it, so it will always be desired. Sad that this is what we have to chase after this year.

The Topps Now autos say RC, so this won't be the only one. Might be the only pack pulled RC Auto, since Ginter doesn't say RC.

ppl were throwin out $300-400 initially, so for it to come in under that for presale, i think ppl went full send on it....ebay sales around $450ish

People see an opportunity to buy this (based on Topps presale pricing) and either flip it sealed, or chase something like a Wemby if they want to open it. Most of the excitement I'm seeing ITT is based on the price point it was listed at by Topps. Many expected it to be higher.

I don't see anyone who is thrilled with it being unlicensed - but it is Topps Chrome, and it has Wemby autos.

You could have bought every single year Prizm baseball FOTL at release for less than these Topps Chrome basketball hobby boxes at Topps listed price. The FOTL cards in Prizm baseball are insane. Last year it was 4 shimmers /10 or less and an auto shimmer /10 are less. Those cards look like Exquisite basketball compared to 23-24 Topps Chrome basketball.

This hobby contains the dumbest of the dumb. People will probably still buy at sky high secondary prices thinking it’s actually sold out. Just like Topps Composite. There will be way more available at release.

If people are going to argue for Wembanyama autographs what are the odds of pulling one? You can buy a /99 or /49 auto of him for $2000-$2500. You can buy a /10 or even /5 auto for well under $10k. You could easily open a half dozen or more cases of Topps Chrome basketball and not pull a Wemby auto.

Its an expensive lottery ticket. 95% of boxes will suck, but 1 in 20 will hit it big (not exact, but you get the point)

I won't buy a box on the secondary market but I'll probably try for a box or two at MSRP.

I don't particularly care for non-licensed cards but I also don't care about them, especially when it includes a generational rookie who doesn't have a licensed rookie card auto. If I'm going for ANY rookie card auto, it'd be the TC on-card rookie card auto (I assume it's on-card anyway).

Funny you bring that up lol! 2021 Metal Universe Champions hobby was over $1000 a box. It's now $100 a box! Maybe less. Precious Metal Gems, Jambalayas, Rubies, Jordan/Lebron/Gretzky autos, licensed Tiger Woods in everything, Griffey, etc. But yeah let's pay 3 times that for a slim chance at unlicensed Wemby autos!
