I picked up some uncut sheets including this one. This is a spectra etch type sheet. Curious if any 90s SW experts could tell me more about it- rarity etc. Not in my wheelhouse as much.

Edit: another question I have is- is this an uncut sheet of uncut sheets (“uncut sheet-ception”) or uncut sheet of the actual chase cards. Since there seem to exist 6-panel (promos?) of the SW Galaxy on eBay, plus based on the arrangement of these….im leaning toward the former- “uncut sheet-ception”, but not 100% on that.

Of all on-the-real-tho' prose thrillaz, I personally enjoy the rachet variety the most.

Pretty sure that's a uncut sheet of the actual inserts themselves, and the 6 card panels a few sellers have are just cut from a larger uncut sheet like the one you have. Topps did issue an uncut sheet of chase foil puzzle cards (as a dealer incentive and also with a redemption card found in packs) from the Star Wars Finest set from the same era, but I don't remember them doing anything like that with Star Wars Galaxy.

The complete image was issued as a pull out poster in a Star Wars Galaxy magazine. I believe it was all 18 cards comprising the trio of 6 card puzzle sets in Galaxy 1, 2, and 3, all drawn by Walt Simonson. All three linked up from series to series and the cards were numbered 1-18. There is a different version of the initial 6 cards in Holofoil as opposed to etched foil. They were issued in the SW Galaxy 1 Millennium Falcon factory set. Same goes with the Series 2 set (#7-12) in the SW Galaxy 2 Tin set, but unfortunately no factory set was ever issued for SW Galaxy 3, so there's only the pack-issued etched foil version of cards #13-18.

Huh…never knew there was a different Holofoil of these chase cards, that’s interesting. I just checked eBay and I see what you mean with the Holofoil pattern…definitely looks different so I know the ones on this sheet are the etched foil ones. These chase cards are pretty cool and a whole 18-connected image would be neat. Great info.

I did an eBay terapeak search of “Star Wars Galaxy uncut sheet” going back 3 years and didn’t see a single example that looked like this, a full sheet. So thought it might be kinda rare. The 6-up panels are odd- what the origin would be..theres no shortage of them. I suppose could be cut from sheets but that many people taking scissors to an uncut sheet? And you’d think we see more full sheets interspersed with the 6-panels.

I used to carry that poster with the full image to Comic-Con every year and I finally ran into Simonson to get his nifty "dinosaur" signature on it. It was folded to fit in the polybag with the magazine which I think is the only way it was ever issued. I probably haven't looked at it 20+ years, but I am glad to have it.

That sounds awesome, should post it sometime, would be cool to see it. I didn’t immediately turn up anything searching for an 18-card Star Wars galaxy poster…curious to see an example of that

I'm not sure what issue it is, but the magazine didn't last long, maybe a year, and I don't think any of them are particularly hard to find, although they tended to be loaded with premiums (ashcan comics books, promo cards, and the like), so a few might be a bit tougher than others. I'll see if I can dig it out next time I'm up there.

I'm learning something ...
Every card variant in Marvel Annual has a different printing plate set?
How many total printing plates does that mean?
