A lot of it has to do with the fact that several of us here:

- Don't really like social media and the way the internet operates in 2024. (someone once said that the internet used to feel like going to a library and now it feels like going to a strip mall)

- Miss the community element of the "old internet" and message boards of the past. Preserving and archiving the jokes and references is a way of keeping that old way of digital life alive. Like a dim lighthouse in the dark fog of today's algorithms.

However, logistically, it would make more sense to sign them and send them to one place to be collated and sent out as sets. Given that Josie is trustworthy, not a troll, and is trying to raise money for a good cause—it snowballed into a loose plan for people to get their cards, sign them, send them to her, and then make a donation to receive a full set along with maybe some other fun cards.

Every day we are getting a little closer. I think getting the set checklist hammered out is the toughest part of this. Having a BlowZoo set without Jubes would be like staying in a nice hotel while the AC was on the fritz. Okay maybe more like a cheap motel while the AC was on the fritz. What makes me laugh is most of us criticize Topps for getting out sets on time and not knowing what they are doing. Let it be known that this project is not as easy an undertaking as first thought.

Rachel, just an observation from the OP: as cool as Ninja appears, he cannot be a part of this set as he does not post in OT. FTR, last night I looked at the checklist and there is 1 card I could live with being linked to, but I cannot tell you what it is as self-nominations are not what this is about.

I can honestly say my blocked list is back to zero.

You make the process sound so easy TheFrenzy. What is going to be fun for me is seeing how long it takes from start to finish to get this project done.

I am hoping everything goes as smoothly as your 5 step plan TheFrenzy but pessimistic Spuds sees some hiccups along the way. Optimistic Spuds sees everything going great and the process gets done in record time.

Whatever happens whoever is participating have fun enjoy your fellow members and the cards and fun this will provide, not to mention supporting a good cause.

That is true. Plus, Ninja hasnt confirmed he's in yet, as far as I know. We need the potential participants to give a thumbs up or a thumbs down.

I would make an exception for Ninja, since he's...well he's Ninja. But whatever everyone else thinks is okay by me, especially Ninjacookies.

Maybe what I meant to say is the person in charge should be someone who gets along with everyone. That's not me. I try but fail miserably at that.

If these go out as complete sets, then each card will need to have a specific number of copies signed and sent. That means hammering out the list is necessary in order for us to know how many cards to provide. It also means some sets will get better parallels than others, but I think that's kinda cool...it leaves mystery in what you're gonna get.

Did you get the Hairy Xfractor? No ...my set had base for him but I got a Josie foil!
