It's not just JROD; it's both him and Witt that are both redemption autos. At least Wander autos seem to be live in this so that is good but it's still a bummer that the other two key guys are redemption. This seems to be more of the type of release where the autos are key. In something like flagship, it's not as dependent on autos given all the key base parallels you can pull, so not as worried usually on flagship stuff (still hope JRod and Witt have live autos in Update though!).

I think for a given specific card, you can usually expect it to be that way for all of that card. May be exceptions but that is usually the norm. Where there can be differences more is where you have different auto cards for a player. That is where you will sometimes see some live (say an unnumbered auto) and some as redemption (say a limited numbered parallel auto). Maybe that could still be the case with JRod as I only see one auto up on eBay. But, Witt has a ton of different auto versions up on eBay now and those are all redemption.

i have seen both a color redemption and a base redemption of Jrod so im assuming all his autos are a redemption. Havent seen many pulled yet tho

Obviously helps if it's an older product and there's more time for the specific card to have been pulled.

Yeah —- I bought Pristine as a pre-order, so didn’t have this option. My initial interest was in Wander, but as this year played out, the JROD auto card grew to be the main appeal. Since I don’t open Wax, this may be a rare flip for me ( assuming the box goes up in price ) - it has much less appeal to me now - bummer. Then again, I’ve had much worse things happen to me!

Easiest way to answer the redemption question is just to assume they're always in there. I generally stay away from "premium" products where the only hit could be a redemption.

Actually…… If I came across one to buy, I would leave the sticker in place —- it’s kinda’ like an unopened product feature that appeals to me

(wasnt until the 2nd to last box) Also got a John Smoltz Patch Auto /5 as well in the final box....good ending for a not so good start lol

How do the refractor /99 autos compare to the base autos? The base look like refractors as well. Is there much of a difference? I'd be interested in opinions of the two from any of y'all that have seen both in person.

The /99 have the pulsar refractor look. Theyvlookbnice, but honestly I like the look of the base autos more. I do love the fact that the pulsar are not the entire card though.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. I feel like I'm kinda leaning base as well. The /99s look incredible in some pictures, but I'm not sure how I feel about the pulsar look. I feel like it makes the card look a little too "busy"

I felt the same way until I started picking up some cards from 2003 Pristine. Almost every case has scratches on the entire case, filmy looking cases, sticky residue, half the stickers were barely holding on. I ended up taking them all out and throwing them in toploaders.

Yeah it's important to sleeve those encased (Flawless, Dynasty, etc) cards up immediately when the boxes are opened..I used to have a pack of graded card sleeves handy as I opened them (Back during the last decade, when a Flawless briefcase ran $1500 versus $15000).

That's my main issue as well as space and weight. If I had a couple nice singles Id keep them in the holder and sleeve it.
Doing a case(s) break or or big buy of the low end ones I'd hate to tote around a bunch of $1-$5 in the holders(that need holders)

Yeah, I got a couple of Yordan Flawless cards recently and the cases are beat to hell. It's hard to want to keep them in there like that, but I know taking them out is a value loss unless it's in a slab.
