What are you thoughts on a PSA 9 bundesliga topps Chrome gold refactor out of 50? I pulled it myself and got it graded, came back a 9. Not sure how to value it. I feel like I also want to hold for a little bit, looks to be the real deal.

That's totally not the case, at at least in basketball. When UD & Topps lost their license, all the old UD & Topps cards became worth more...and are still climbing higher and higher(See TC & Exquisite prices...).

Awesome card! I'd hold it... Not to sure on price, but a PSA 10 gold auctioned for 18k a little over a month ago. Dart at a board...12k-15k? Doesn't look like base prices have changed much since then, but you have a rare card. Good luck with it either way(keep it!).

^ this is happening now with UFC cards. Since the news broke about Topps losing the licence to Panini everyone gobbled up the sealed wax, prices jumped massively and autos have shot up

If Topps loses a license and the theory is that people into Haaland will move to something more stable as the rookie... what are we suggesting that would be? Fussball? Or are we saying Chrome Bundesliga? Because if it's Bundesliga chrome... I'd argue that losing CL won't matter for Haaland value of CL (or Sapphire) because they are "similar" already... so it won't necessarily move the needle any more than existing preference and print run differences already would. They are still both "Topps Chrome". And I agree with the above that I don't think a loss of a license matters a ton anymore when there's not another comparative rookie product. It would maybe be different if we were sitting here with both a UCL Panini Prizm Haaland and a Topps Chrome Haaland from the same season. If Chrome went away forever at some point people may fade that in favor of the "standard". There just isn't another one here.

Yeah I'm thinking holding as well. There was a sale after that one for about$13.5K I believe. I'm thinking this would be around maybe $9k. I don't have a team in soccer...usually watch champions league and what not mainly. But it's been fun following Haaland.

The Haaland gold with the color and the team from Bundesliga is so sharp.

I'm guessing about 7-9k in PSA 9.

PSA 10 refractor supposedly went for over $6k (another one for $5250). PSA 9s for $1500-1700. I don't think that 3-4x difference makes a ton of sense (one is too high or the other too low) and I don't think it holds for low #s as strongly even if it DID make sense, but I could pretty easily see it being 1/2 on a sale as the PSA 10.

Before the most recent jump, a BGS 9.5 gold went for $7725. I'd put the BGS 9.5 ahead of the PSA 9... though with 9 corners the 9.5 probably wouldn't be a crossover candidate. So give it a little bit of the recent premium and again, I think 7-9k feels good.

Question for purely investment purposes. No plan to ever open. Do I go with two 2019 topps chrome hobby boxes $620 per or one topps chrome sapphire box?

In Baseball, there's about a 40-60% premium from Topps Chrome Hobby to Topps Chrome Sapphire that carries over for both 2019 & 2020. Seems to be there with these UEFA boxes also.

BUT it's a 700 card base set for Baseball Sapphire. Meaning that its around 7x harder to hit a base Tatis card from a Baseball box than a Haaland from a Soccer box.

I would go Sapphires. Some other ways besides Haaland's success that it becomes more valuable.

As for Haaland as Ronaldo has shown all of these will have value. It's about what each person wants and what GaryV promotes (kidding sort of). The interesting one will be Immaculate. As a few have pointed out pretty much everything that came out this year will have 2019 on the PSA slab. Immaculate won't even though they will have the RC logo. The fact that got away with calling it just a 2020 product and not 2020/2021 is a whole other story but I digress.

They’re saying that KM and EH are the next big rivalry (this generations CR7 and LM big). Haaland is Uber competitive. Last week during champions league KM scored a hat trick and then EH went and scored twice. After said that KM scoring the hat trick gave him motivation.

Look up the stats, KM and EH hold a lot of records (deep analytical records)...right now the big “record” is most champions league goals before 21st birthday. KM has 19?....Messi had 11, 0 for Ronaldo...EH has one less than KM, so he should be at 18 but had a couple games left in champions league before he turns 21 (June). Super interesting, but the future of soccer is in good hands with these two, that’s for sure.

Yeah I agree. It’s super sharp, the gold with the bundesliga kit in yellow.

I believe Mbappe has more marketing potential but as the future of soccer, there is always room for more than one.

Have held some stuff though: Topps Conference BGS 9.5 (True Gem), 2x Finest Base RC (Gem +s), UEFA Purple Ref.

Yeah, Mbappe has multiple things going for him that Haaland doesn't. (And this coming from somebody who only owns Haaland.) Mbappe has been playing at an elite level for longer. His club is one of the highest profile teams in the world, so his coverage is enormous. Some find Mbappe (and his social media presence) to be more interesting and charismatic. And, most importantly, his national team is a perennial World Cup & Euro contender.

But on the flip side, Haaland's last 12 months in terms of pure performance have been unlike anything the sport has ever seen...

I tend to think that having competing baby GOATs would be a net gain for everyone, much like the Messi vs CR7 rivalry has been fantastic for the sport. Our hobby isn't really a zero sum game...

What is the story with the different fronts? Are some from earlier print runs or are they more like inserts?
