Rumor is that he didn't think he would make his bonus so he said screw it. This is the most Mets season ever.

Didn’t he pull a similar stunt when he initially went on the IL for his heel injuries (non-Wild Boar related)?

You’re right. I’m just a little annoyed that the NL implements the DH for this year, which he was perfect for, and he pulls this grade A bologna.

Is he though? Dom Smith is perfectly fine as a DH. I'm treating this season as a spring training. Throw the guy in the DH spot every game and see what happens. I bet Cespedes never plays another MLB game. What a tool.

Smith with a better glove at 1B should start there, and DH Alonso...we need some Defense out there....

I like Dom Smith, but he isn’t the impact bat that Cespedes could be. I agree though, let’s see what happens. And that Cespedes is a tool.

There's zero chance they won't trot Pete out at 1b almost every game. I don't think he's terrible at 1st but Smith is certainly better.

Even for the Mets I'm surprised at how this all blew.up so quick. I knew it was going to be a mess when Thor went down.

Do we really want Alonso to DH right now with how he is swinging a bat? I know he has to eventually find his mojo, but right now he is not there.
