I actually think it will effect his business. It already has just in this thread. Many more will see and hear about this. There are plenty of other breakers that provide the same service without the arrogance and disrespect shown, and the most telling part was his excuse that “he didn’t want a damaged card getting into the hands of collectors”. It was so incredibly childish and dishonest for him to pretend he was doing everything for the good of others. I would never do business with anybody like that again.

I’m going with it will make almost zero difference. Most of their heavy customers don’t give a crap what people here think. And most people here aren’t their heavy customers.

That's it. You put yourself out there with a big personality on camera all the time and get offended when someone posts a one minute video making fun of you. He is so insecure that his reaction to that is to destroy a 1/1 card to make a point about how much money he has and how little value that card has to him.

As was stated, he doesn't care about the hobby, he cares about getting your money and showing how amazing he is.
The highlighted part of your comment describes this hobby in general. Its 100% about $$ and showing how amazing you are with your wicked collection!! Check out all the instagrams guys and their displays!!

Yup, it's hardly about collecting anymore...Everybody wants to collect the same star players for their "portfolios" and "stashes" and create hype threads to comment and pump these cards up in. Common cards are deemed absolutely useless and you have people who have opened hundreds of Prizm and Update boxes and don't know what the heck to do with the base cards...as 99% of the cards they pull are just filler for the big hits or star rookies. Go to that 2018 Update thread on the baseball board and every post is either some sort of Acuna parallel or Soto and you'd swear that it's a five card set. Boxes are deemed duds if you don't find the star players. Whatever happened to enjoying the stuff you get and finding aesthetic value in a card even if it is Gary Trent Jr and not Doncic? I remember busting an expensive 1993-94 Finest box back in the day and my two refractors were lesser players but I still had a blast opening the box because it was a beautiful set.
It's a hobby that has been occupied by hypemen and lobbyists. I know it might sound like an overgeneralization and there are a lot of good folks still around but I can see what direction this hobby is trending in and in this vignette of the future, everybody has amazing Giannis, Doncic, acuna, Mahomes collections everybody takes turns patting everybody on the back.

He’s getting ripped on in other places, too. Will he go out of business? No, but there’s no way he doesn’t lose some customers or keep some from starting to break with him based on what they’ve seen or heard.

Their “high volume” customer base isn’t BO users. People don’t buy from breakers because those breakers “respect the cards”. They do it because either they’re addicted to gambling or they’re chasing hits. And Platinum open “big” (ie NT/Flawless/Draft/Contenders/whatever etc) in volumes you just don’t get elsewhere.

The number of times I've now seen the term "haters" used without sarcasm over the last few days makes me concerned for the future of humanity.

Well, that is true for a lot of them, but regardless of “respecting the cards”, if the person doing the breaks seems like a douchebag to them, they might be turned off from even dealing with him. All it takes is one incident to sour them on bothering with that business or person.

That word was big back like 12-15 years ago. It just shows you how hip and cool these guys are.

Unless Jeff Bezos breaks with them, I’d say no

100x doesn’t do it enough justice. It’s so freaking true and a joke. How many NT breaks did they do last year. I lost track at over 100. Why not just buy the entire print run.

I can see it now in a year or so. Breaker exclusive products.

They're all degenerate gamblers...they can't stop! They will continue because they are junkies at this point.

Sadly that’s probably the case (no pun intended)

True this brought him publicity but I wouldn’t say it’s a good thing unless you also consider OJ killing his wife good publicity
