I'm most comfortable with espn, even with them changing all the stuff.

I'm open to opinions on CBS with bumping up the entry fee, but I'd prefer to avoid that if possible. There doesn't really appear to be one perfect solution, but at this point my vote would be to go with ESPN, knowing that our drafts will be offline each year (minus this year, unless we want an offline draft right away)

I think it seems like ESPN is the right way to go

I vote for an offline draft right away. Might as well start it off that way

Ok, it sounds like others are leaning ESPN anyways, so we'll go with that and offline drafts each year. I'm still hopeful they add in some of the features they've removed as well to get back to full functionality, but we'll see

Haven't had a chance to get LeagueSafe set up yet (been having some issues on my end with the email associated with my account and wanted to get that squared up before trying to create another league there. Think I'm good to go now though so hoping to get that all set up in the next few hours. Then will PM everyone details for how to pay, collect addresses to invite people with, and get ESPN leagues set up. If anyone has any issues with a rule in the OP, ideas for something else, or notice something I missed, now's the time to share

How do you work the "Offline" draft?

The draft setup is the only thing I hate ESPN for. Both Fantrax and CBS allow slow-timer live drafts online.

So it still runs online and not on a forum, but has a super slow timer, it's really nice.

That's the biggest thing I wish ESPN would do, bring the extended timer live drafts in.

We'll just do it here in the thread. See this thread for an idea of how it goes. I'll keep track of the draft results as they roll in (probs will make a spreadsheet somewhere so we always have access to draft history), you'll get X amount of time (24 hours? Not sure yet) to make a pick and PM the next person up. This requires everyone to log on and make a selection when they get a PM, so I'll need people to keep a close eye on this thread and their PMs, but it works well. Just takes a bit of time

We could run both drafts concurrently, or do AL first and then the NL (or vice versa). Doesn't matter to me. Might be a little bit easier to do one before the other

Once the draft is all done, I can import teams into ESPN and then we're good to go

Just PMed everyone to collect email addresses to send ESPN league invites to. Hope to have my LeagueSafe issues resolved in the next few days so we can start accepting payments

I'd like to target starting the drafts in the last week of February or the first week of March, just to make sure we have plenty of time to finish up before the season starts

Read Hollywood’s thread above. He has a suggestion for the draft , which is the way to go I think.

Pretty sure cbs would charge us for two leagues, so not an option.

I don’t know if this was mentioned but I trust hollywood to just random draft order. When it’s that time to get it done.

Should be somewhere in your preferences where you can turn on email notifications when you get a PM. Then turn email push notifications on with your phone

When joining the league, you can set your team name to whatever you want, but please use a shortened version of your Blowout username for your team abbreviation. This is to help people know which team you are and what person to contact about trades

Abbreviations can be 4 characters long, so for example, I will probably use 'WOOD' for mine. 7jacfire might pick '7JAC'. Grilledeggplant might use 'EGG'. You get the idea. I want people to be able to tie a username to a team to be able to keep who's who straight

Since we are doing a “slow” draft are we going to intermingle the drafts or still plan to do one of each?
